Jasmine-Mary`s birthstory

I had gotten a membrane sweep done on August 20th which appeared to not have worked,but on August 22nd a couple hours after having sex,i started to feel crampy.i wasnt having regular contractions or anything but the crampiness was keeping me from sleeping and i figured it was time to give up trying.so i stood up and with the crampiness i swayed my hips a little and then there was a spatter and a gush as my waters suddenly broke! i was so exited as i knew this was going to be it.my waters had never broke in the past on their own.so i woke up my two eldest children who were so curious as they watched another big gush of fluid came on the livingroom carpet LOL.as soon as i called their dad to come and get them and got set up with a babysitter for my youngest william,i was on my way to L&D! So when i got there at about 2:30am they did the internal and the amnio test to confirm it was my waters,and indeed it was but i knew that of course.i was 50 percent effaced and 5 centemeters dialated.the triage waiting area was full,and they were out of birthing rooms! so i had to wait a few hours until there were more beds available.i was having regular contractions although they were managable and didnt need pain relief.to my upset at about 7am my contractions decided to stop! i was beside myself and afraid they would send me home! with each doctor and nurse i got they all had differences of opinion on broken waters and the importance of keeping me in due to impending infection if the baby wasnt delivered within a certain time.FINALLY i talked to my doctors main assistant who told me not to worry and that they were not sending me home,they didnt want me going over 24 hours without having the baby.so now i could breath again and relax lol.they kept me untill 6pm and thats when i got into my birthing room and got set up with pitocin.i eventually got an epidural as i could tell it was taking a while and i was feeling pain,except something was off.i felt more frozen on one side! at about 4 in the morning i was checked again for progress and surprise....i was still the same! i was so upset and then they finally realised something,there was some hind waters behind the baby! apparently even though my waters broke there was still lots hiding back there.so after they broke the rest of it,the labor changed fast.i was terribly uncomfortable and on one side i could feel no pain,but on the other it was terrible! the nurses didnt understand it,but it was found to be true.at about 5am i felt pressure and the tears were flowing,lol.i was checked and it was time to push! the nurse put her fingers in there and i started pushing,they were waiting for the doctor.when he got their abour 4 min later she said "ok not i can stop holding this baby back,my fingers are hurting" and i said what! you could have told me you were doing that! LOL.there was ONE thing good about not being numb down there.i was able to feel the babys head when she started crowning and i let her gently stretch me out with tiny little pushes.she was born in maybe 5 mins of pushing and we were suprised beyond belief that it was a GIRL!! after 3 boys,which were all delivery surprises I finally had my princess.
