As you all know I was scheduled for my induction on October 26th, but I'd had a dream I'd had my son on the 20th. I didn't think much of it..just casually brushed that dream off and continued to prepare myself for my induction. Well October 20th around 5:30pm while eating dinner I began to start having pains in my tummy that felt like mild cramps. So I continued eating, but asked my mom to pack her hospital bag because my induction was around the corner and she did & by then knew it was the "real thing" unbeknownst to me. Then in between the contractions I went to do number 1 & 2 and lost my mucous plug and then we both knew it was the real thing! So an hour went by & I kept getting the pains so I decided to time them. They started out at 10 minutes apart..then 7..then between 7 & 5. My doctor had already told me that since I live so far, to leave for the hospital when the contractions are between 3 and 5 minutes apart. By this time my mom had packed her bag, I finished getting my stuff together, I'd called my child's father & my mom had the infant seat and bags in the kitchen ready for take off. Tony arrived about 45 minutes later (my house is in the country and I live a good distance away from pretty much anywhere) and we all hoped in his truck and were on our way. The contractions were getting worse! I couldn't function. I couldn't talk during them and afterward felt so much better. About 45 minutes later we arrived at the hospital. I could barely walk, but I did my paperwork and in no time I was in the hospital bed being checked with monitors and for dilation. When I arrived I was between 5 and 6 centimeters. They asked if I wanted an epidural and I said yes please! Epi went in. My bag of waters was broken. Then they checked me again and I was between 8 and 9 centimeters. OMG! It was all going by so fast! Next thing I know it was time to push. I pushed with all my might!! My mom and Tony were right there beside me coaching me and helping me through everything. I pushed for 35 minutes and then started crowning. So then they called my doctor and she came in and told me I can tell when you're not really pushing. Ugh! I was so mad. So then I gave one gigantic push and out pops my son in one push, but he'd came out face up instead of down which had caused me to tear and rip horribly in the inside. He was healthy though. Born at 12:58am, 6lbs 11oz and 20 inches long! He had a head full of pretty black curly hair and gorgeous gray eyes! I was messed up though and was hemmoraging from all the blood loss and in so much pain and just really scared. It took them awhile to stich me. That was the absolute worst part! I couldn't even hold my baby. I just wanted to cry. Finally they were done and they'd told me it was the worst case they'd ever seen. I was just glad it was all over and my son was here safely. Hours later they brought my son to the recovery room and I fell in love with him all over again. He is my price charming. Just perfect in every way. I've been home since friday and recovering well. We both great!
