Jillian-Cynthia-Smith`s birthstory
This birth was absolutely amazing. Not only did we get the little girl that we have longed for, the labor was short and pretty much pain free. I was scheduled to be induced at 6 AM the morning of August 21st. I woke up around 3 AM, showered, shaved, did my makeup and hair, ate breakfast, and my husband and left the house by 4:45 AM. We got to the hospital right at 6 AM and the started my on Pitocin. I was 2 cm dilated upon arrival. My doctor came in about 7:30 and broke my water. I was at 3 cm and -1 station. My contractions were coming about every 2 - 3 minutes and were pretty bearable. At 8:30 AM my nurse came in and said that the anesth. was down the hall giving another epidural and said that he would be available to do mine in a few moments. She suggested I go ahead and get it then while was he was so close. I agreed and got my epidural. At 9:30 AM my nurse checked me and I was 5 cm dilated 90% effaced and at 0 station. My contractions continued about every 2-3 minutes and I was still feeling them about the same as I was pryor to my epidural. At 10 AM, my nurse came in and said that baby`s heart rate had dropped a little with my last contraction and I told her I had felt a little bit of pressure with my last contraction. She said if baby did it again, she would check me. She left the room and with the next conctraction she came back into the room and said the baby`s heart rate dropped again and I told her I had again had some pressure. She checked me and to everyone`s suprise, baby was coming!!!! She hollered out of the room for the other nurses at the station. She and the other nurses barely had time to get the bed broke down and get gloves on when my little girl came racing into the world. I just layed there in disbelief. My husband`s mouth was dropped wide open too. Only 4 hours of labor and barely any pain from start to finish. There wasn`t even any required pushing, she was just coming out on her own. My last labors were 22 hours, 28 hours, and 16 hours, all with epidurals, all with a great deal of pain and pushing. All were boys!! HAHA!! This was amazing. My nurse delivered my daughter at 10:17 AM. 17 minutes after she walked into the room to check me. When my doctor finally made it into the room, he was in shock. Jillian Cynthia Smith weighed 9 lbs 14.1 oz and was an amazing 22 inches long. She had a beautiful dark head of hair and beautiful skin color. We are all so in love with her. I hope you all had or do have wonderul delivery experiences. Good luck to you all. Had the ol` tubes tied. So won`t be doing this again. Four is our number and we feel our family is now complete. God bless you all.
