Miraye`s birthstory

Feb 16th @ around 4:00am I was up watching a pre-recorded version of the NBA all star weekend games. I started getting pretty strong contractions which weren`t close enough to each other. Well, I though to myself...I`d better go to bed in order to get my mind of off the pain. Ha! I got in the bed and what do you know....5 mins apart and very unbearable. I took a shower. told my husband and off we went. I got to the hospital at around 7:00am. They checked me into triage, hooked up all their monitors and after 2 hrs of waiting, I was admitted at still 4cm 70%effaced. I was making no progress on my own. They broke my water around 10:00am, put me on pitocin and I asked for the epidural. The water was so warm...lol. Anyway, I kept being monitored and for hrs no progress. Finally at around 6:30pm, I was 5-6cm dilated....which still was slow, but it made me happier. I realized that the nurse kept monitoring me. It was more frequent than usual, then she snapped an oxygen mask onto me. My body wasn`t getting enough oxygen and my baby`s heart rate kept fluctuating. After that, she checked my vitals and I had developed a fever so I was put on antibiotics. The fever was a result of having my water broke for so long and no progress. At 10:00pm, the doctor came and checked again and I made no progress, He explained to me that I`d have to be put under the knife for a c-section because I was in rested labor (no progress) and the baby was in danger. So, I got prepared and at around 2:49am I heard the most innocent cry ever. I started tearing up and I heard my husband say....SHE`S GORGEOUS!` She is gorgeous. She`s the most beautiful baby ever. I`m such a proud mommy and he`s such a proud papa.
