Brooklynn-Grace-`s birthstory

Well June 26th I was so ready to be done with pregnancy so I went for a walk and took my daughter to the park. We came home and read that basil can help induce labor so I made some pasta for lunch. I cleaned a little then we orderd chinese for dinner. Put JAyden to bed and decided to try BD to help get things started. I felt nothing so went to bed around 12:30. Around 3 Derrick nuged me to roll over and i got a pain and thought I just needed to go to the bathroom. Got back in bed and had 3 more pains and noticed a pattern. I started timing them for an hour they were lasting 30-40 sec and 4 mins apart. Called my midwife and told her we were going to be heading to the birthcenter. We finaly got there around 5am. Midwife got there checked me and I was 5cm already.
I was very calm relaxing through the contractions my dula found it hard to belive I was in active labor and able to talk and laugh with everyone. I got on the birthing ball ate and walked around 7 or so I decided to get in the birthing pool. Contraction incressed but I was still calm breathing and talking. Then around 9 they really got going and I was no longer as calm not crazy but you could tell I was close to delivering. Midwife told me if I wanted to try and push I could I didnt I let my body do the work. At 10 she checked me and I had a little cirvix left she moved that out of the way and broke my waters. At some point she got me on all 4s and her head came out before anyone was ready. Derrick didnt even have time to cetch her like we wanted and the midwife had to get in the water just to cetch her. Derrick did however get to bring her out of the water and put her on my chest.

Brooklynn Grace Roberson was born at 10:16am on June 27,2012 sharing a birthday with mommy!!!!!! She was wlcomed earth side by her daddy big sister grandma dula and midwives. It was an amazing water birth and Baby and I was home 3 hours after birth. We are doing good and working on breastfeeding.
