Owen-Blake`s birthstory
We got to the hospital to check in at 7:00 a.m. The nurses put the monitors on me and started me on saline. They also checked me and I was dilated a 3 and 80% effaced (no change since my appt on the 2nd). At 8:30 they started me on pitocin. As I was waiting I kept thinking `I can`t believe I am here! This is it!`. I was so excited! Every 30 minutes to an hour they would come in and check me. I was progressing really fast and that surprised me because with my first baby it took like four hours just to get dilated to a 5! They told me I could have the epidural any time I wanted. But at the moment I didn`t feel like the contractions were that bad so I waited until I couldn`t stand the pain any longer (which for me was at a 5 lol). So I told them to go get the anesthesiologist and it took him like 30 minutes to get there. After I got it I felt so much better. Although it made me kinda nauseated and really tired because I was so relaxed. I knew that I was really progressing because my body started shaking really bad and I know it was from the intense pain that I was having but unable to feel. At 12:45 the doctor came in to check me and he told me I was at a 7. I was just shocked at how fast I was going. This was a breeze compared to Brady! He asked me if I was feeling any pressure and I said no. Then he said he would be back to check on me in a little bit. The nurses said he was down the hall delivering someone else. My mother-in-law and sister-in-law were in the room talking to me when I suddenly asked `uuhh...what does pressure feel like??` and they were asking why and trying to explain when I said `honey you better go get the doctor because I feel like I have to push!!`. So my hubby ran out and said that the doctor is on his way right now. Both my MIL and SIL left the room really fast lol. When the doctor came in he threw on some gloves, barely checked me with his fingers and said `yep you`re ready!`. He stood up grabbed his gloves barely had time to slip them on and his other things and little Owen was already crowning. My hubby was like `his hair is really dark and he looks exactly like Brady!!!`. Well, I pushed 3 times and he was out! It was the easiest delivery ever! With Brady I pushed for 1 1/2 hours long!!! Owen was so cute, he came out just screaming his head off lol. Even the nurse and doctor were shocked at how mad he was! I didn`t have an episiotomy but did have a 2nd degree tear which was no big deal. He gave me a few stitches and I was good. I am so glad to finally have my baby here healthy and perfect! It couldn`t have gone any better. I hope that all my babies come just like that. We came home the next day and are doing great. He slept all through the first 2 nights and is such a calm, content, happy baby. I am so incredibly in love with him!
