Logan-Douglas-Rocket`s birthstory

What a whirlwind! Monday the 9th I was crampy and having contractions all day, but they were about 10-15 minutes apart, so I figured it was just practice stuff... Then they started getting really strong in the evening, so we took my daughter to her Grandma`s around 7:00, just in case. By 10pm the contractions were strong and 3 minutes apart, so I called the hospital and they told me to come in. They monitored me from 11pm until 3am before admitting me, at which point I was only 3cm dilated, but almost 100% effaced. I was committed to not having any drugs or pain relief, and spent the next 4 hrs on the birthing ball, in the tub and walking around. They checked me again, but with no progress and no sleep, I gave in and got an epidural. I managed to get 45 minutes of sleep and was at 6cm by 10:30, so they broke my water and turned the baby (he was nose up). The doc said `it won`t be long` and left. Literally 5 minutes later, I felt him coming, called the nurse, who rushed everyone in, all the while telling me not to push (yeah right). They gave me the go-ahead, and after 3 pushes, Logan was born!! What a relief, because I had 2hrs of pushing with my first ;-) He is healthy and gorgeous and DH and I are absolutely in love with him. We are truly blessed and so thrilled to have our family safe and home.
