Brianna`s birthstory

I was called early Tuesday morning *6:30 am* to come into the hospital to be induced and both Grant and I were working on 2-3 hours sleep. We finally arrived at the hospital around 8:30 am, registered and later went to the labour room to meet with my nurse. We got settled in and around 9:30 I met with the intern and found out that my cervix was still very high and that she couldn`t even break my water, so alas I was pretty stressed out. Not too long after my OB came and checked me and low and behold the intern didn`t do it right and my OB was able to break my water at 11:20 and thats where it all began lol. At 12:30 the real labour started and I held out for pain meds until 3:30, the contractions were so strong that I asked for the epidural. In Canada they have a new type of epidural where you can actually control the amount of drugs that enter your body *sort of like a morphine drip with the clicker* HOWEVER you can only give yourself so much medication hahaha. It was amazing, I was able to feel the pressure of the contractions but no pain.
Later the intern came back and checked me and said, `Well she is still high and you are only 4-5cm, she needs to come down and put some pressure on your cervix`. I was on the epidural for about 2 hours when I felt her turn and I said to my nurse that I had a lot of pressure and that I felt Brianna move so she called the intern to come and examine me again `about 20 minutes after she had checked me lol`.
The intern comes back and checks me and says `Wow that was fast, you are ready to push ... bear down and give me a good push and lets see where you are at`. `Well, I said ... I`m a really good pusher ... 3 pushes and she will be out`. So with that I gave her a push and she said `STOP, no more ... I have to call the doctor` hahaha Told you So !!
I had bought one of those pre-paid calling cards so that Grant could call my Mom in Germany as she was unable to be there for the birth. My OB comes into the room and tell Grant to call my Mom, with all of the numbers and access code there was 39 numbers that had to be dialed lmao. So I`m pushing and the doctor said her head is almost out, I yell to Grant `DIAL FASTER SHE IS ALMOST HERE`, my OB told me to stop pushing or Grant would have missed the birth so my Mom answered and he said `She is almost here, Listen` and 2 pushes and Brianna made it into the world.
Brianna Elyse was born at a whopping 8.3lbs, 22 inches long with beautiful dark hair and the most amazing blue eyes. My OB thought she would be about 6.5-7lbs but alas she was bigger than we thought.
The adjustment for Nathan has been difficult as he is fighting for attention but he loves his little sister, always wanting to hold her and give her kisses but the nights have been difficult on me. Both Nathan and Brianna are sick with a cold and I`m dealing with a sinus issue *sigh*. Today,. Brianna weights 9lbs, makes little smiles at her Daddy when he comes home from work, loves to have a bath and already knows the difference between her bassinet and sleeping beside Mommy and Daddy !! *little stinker*.

I couldn`t be anymore in LOVE !!!
