Ashleigh-Grace-Botens`s birthstory

Ashleigh Grace Botens was born early monday morning at 9:27am.I had been having contractions for two days, but they were very irregular so the doctor told me to stay home until they were 5-7 minutes apart for one hour.I started to write them down to keep track and was getting very fustrated because they would come every 8 minutes then every 25 mintues,and pretty much whenever they wanted but no pattern whatsoever.Around one o`clock in the morning they started to get really strong and were waking me up about every 8-10 minutes so I was starting to get really nervous because I didn`t want to go to the hospital and get sent home for false labor, but on the other hand I didn`t want to miss out on the chance of getiing an epideral either! I kept hoping my water would break so I definetly would know. At 2:57 I had a really bad contraction and I got up afterward to go to the bathroom and as soon as I stood up my water broke and was all over the floor!! Be careful what you wish for! After that we rushed to the hospital and everything is kinda blurry after that,it all flew by so fast.I was already 4-5 cenimeters dialated and it took no time at all to get to 10.They told me i`d probably only be pushing for like 30 minutes and she`d be out,I was so full of emotion that I started to cry.I was so numb from the waist down that I couldn`t feel my legs at all,all I felt was a really cold feeling like there were bags of ice on top my legs.When it came time to start pushing I couldn`t feel the contractions or anything so they had to tell me when to push.After I was pushing for an hour and made no progress really ,they told me they had to turn off the epideral machine, which made me really nevous but since I couldn`t feel anything they had to do it.After that wore off it went really quick.She was caught in a wierd position and got her umbilical cord wrapped around her arm so when she did come out she was pretty blue and had a big bruise on her left arm.Other than that everything is great and she is a happy and healthy baby girl and we are so happy to have her home!
