Lillian-Grace`s birthstory
I had been having weird pains and unusual cramping in my belly Tursday night. So, I woke up Friday morning and decided to call my doctor for a quick check up. I knew the weekend was coming, and I didn`t want to have to wait till Monday when my 40 week appointment was scheduled. When I got there bright and early, she did an NST....I was on that sucker for about 2 hours. Baby`s movements were slow and unusual. She then did an U/S and found out that although my water did NOT break....my fluid was almost completely gone. Still no explanation for that....SO....at that point she told me I had to go to the hospital immdiately for an induction. Lily needed to come out. I calmly drove myself there, calling hubby and parents on the way. I couldn`t believe I was about to meet my little girl. By the time I was admitted and pitocin started...it was 11:30am Friday morning. I was 3cm, and it took me about an hour to two hours to dilate another centimeter. Looooong story short, by the time I was 10 cm dilated (I had an epi around 6cm), it was already 12:30am Saturday morning. I was tired, but had to start pushing. The epidural was too strong, and I couldn`t feel a thing. SO...they had to turn it off. 1.5 hours into it, the pain was unbelievable...the epi wore off, but much to everyone`s surprise - my `parts` were still very numb, so I couldn`t feel to push. The back labor was intense since she was sunny side up. I begged them to turn the epi back on, and that`s when the doctor said there was swelling on Lily`s head from being stuck in the same place. He said they would need to section me. UGH! At this point, I didn`t care...I just wanted her OUT! To make matters worse, my epi was spotty and there were several patches that did not take. My c-section experience was awful, I could feel just about everything...the anesthesiologist pumped me SO full of morphine, I was wasted. My blood pressure bottomed out to 70/40...hubby said I turned gray, and my lips turned blue...so they injected me with some other med to get me going again (don`t remember the name). Eventually, I heard Lillian`s cry...and I knew it was almost all over...unfortunately, I was so out of it, I can`t remember much more in detail. We stayed three days in the hospital, and we came home on Monday. I am exhausted, but SO in love with her...she is the most BEAUTIFUL thing that has EVER happened to me. We have waited for her for eight years!!
