Ryder-James`s birthstory

I went into my doctors office July 29th and because of my toxemia and protein levels I was sent home to gather my things and then onto the hospital to be induced. That night I was given Cervadil around 9pm and some sleeping meds. At 5:30am the next morning the Cervadil was removed and Pitocin started at 6am. Labor was intense!! I was finally given an epidural at around 3pm or so and I was only 3cm dilated. No one tells you how much that epidural hurts!! It sure doesn`t take away any of that pressure either which I knew but I didn`t know the pressure was sooooo intense. At around 9pm I was checked, I was only 6cm but 100% effaced and at a 0. His little heart rate was going up so he wasn`t handling labor too well so my doctor said it was too much and they needed to do a c-section.

Ryder was born at 9:54pm and came out crying. What a set of lungs. Unfortunately it didn`t take long for him to start breathing hard and working hard to catch his breath so he was taken to the CCN (NICU). Last night he went into an isolette but they didn`t have to ventilate him (yet anyway). We can`t really touch him even right now, much less anything else. Daddy walked in just in time to diaper him yesterday (lucky) and has gotten much more time with him than I have (while I was still being sewn up).

So I guess I am going home probably tomorrow and my little man wont be coming with me. Of course they cant give me even an estimate of when he will be able to come home but I really hope it is very soon. Its been hard having a baby and not being able to hold him or bond with him or anything.
