Riley-Claire`s birthstory

I started having very mild contractions Sunday night. I had my 39wk appt on Monday. I was still having contractions about every 5min. but not painful. I was 0cm and 0%. He said he was going out of town and if I would just dialate 1cm he would induce on the 28th after he got back. I went home cleaned the house and finished painting my 4yr olds room.I was scheduled to work Tues and Wednesday night so I took my little girl to her grandmas my car broke down on the way back so I had to get someone to come pick me up off the highway. I took a warm bath that night to ease the back pain from all the painting. I finally went to bed about 1:30 Tuesday morning. I woke up about 4:30 with some mild to moderate contractions nothing any more painful than my false labor pains so I just called my mom and told her to take her stuff to work with her just in case. I ended up taking her to work so that I would have a way to get around that day. My mom is an RN at the hospital so while she took care of business I went to the cafeteria and got some breakfast. I went to my friends after that and took a nap. I woke up about 9 and since my sister was going to be driving 3hrs I decided to go get checked out just to see if there was any progress. I really wasn`t expecting anything. I picked my mom up from work and drove us to the women`s center. I was 0cm but very thin. My contractions really started kicking in about an hour after our arrival. The doctor on call was in surgery. He came by afterwards to check me about an hour later and I was 1cm with bulging water. They admitted my 3hrs after my arrival about 12. He said he would start my epidural and then break my water and seemed to think things would go quickly. I finally had my IV in around 1pm and after 6 or 7 sticks my epidural was in too. My BP bottomed out to around 60/20 I started vomiting. They stopped my epidural about 15min after they started it the dr said he would come back to break my water. 2 minutes later it broke on its own. 2:15 I was at 2cm and at 2:55 I was fully dialated. They wanted me to push. I was crowned and no one had on gloves so I kind of gave a couple half ass pushes to see what would happen. The cord was around her neck and shoulder they untangled her and a couple of pushes and there she was screaming like crazy. The most beautiful sound I had ever heard.
