Landon-James`s birthstory

We checked into the hospital on Friday July 25th at 6pm to start the induction. I was at 1 cm at this time. They got us set up and gave me 2 different doses to try and get things soft ( dont recall the name of the meds) well it was a rough night just because of being uncomfortable, not because of contractions. Then I was checked again at 6 am, still at 1 cm. I was so upset that after all night nothing had changed.

The doctor came in and broke my water around 7am, and I was at 2 cm, also they started the pitocin. So then it all started to happen rather fast. I am not sure of the time but I think it was in the 9 oclock hour they came in to give me my epidural, which was wonderfully done, did not hurt 1 bit but by this time my contactions were getting very strong. Then it was as soon as I did get the epidural the contractions really became super strong so the nurse checked me and I was at 5cm.

With in the next 20-25 mins I went from 5 cm`s to 10 and the epidural did not have time to work, so I did not have any pain meds for delivery.

Landon was born in 3 pushes at 10:16 a.m. I did tear some but at that point I didnt care. I was begging the doctor to knock me out and just give me a c-section.

We both are doing just fine and hope to be going home on Monday.

So even thought we were in the hospital for aprox 16 hours before he was born things didnt start to happen till about 7am, so either way the total labor time was not very long at all.
