On the morning of July-06, we went to the hospital for 6:30 am, as u all know we had a schedule c-section as the baby was breeched and they said the cord was around her neck. I was told to get there for 6:30 as my surgery was for 10:00am, the nurses that registered me the Friday "forgot" that my c-section was 10, she thought it was for 8:00am, that is why I was there so early. Anyways, we got our room and got settled in and my husband was walking around with the camcorda. I was getting a little antsy, as I did not feel alot of movement from baby since the night before. My nurse came in at 8:00am and I told her about not feeling too much movement, she got out the little heart beat thingy and after maybe the longest 2 mins of my life, she found the h/b. Whew!!!. Then she started to get me hooked up by inserthing the IV and the other tube :)....not very pleasant. Then they started to wheel me down, my hubby was given some scrubs to wear as well. Then my doctor came and spoke with me and hubby and they took me in to get the spinal and then my hubby joined us. The rest of it was me trying to move my feet to see if I can still feel and waiting, then after a lot of pulling and tugging ( i felt as if I was being rolled around) I heard my doctor said...."Baby Girl". Still, no cry from my baby. Michael (Hubby) was looking scared and I was scared way before the surgery started. Then they took the baby over to clean her up and one of the assist. said "very quiet baby". I kept on asking Michael if she was ok, as all I saw was one side of her and not her face. Then I heard her making little crying sounds and I breathed a sigh of relief, not realising I was holding my breath. They took her away as she was 3wks early without showing her to me and hubby kissed me and went with her to NICU where they did all types of test on her. Her blood sugar was low, so was mine, so they had to give her IV, also both my self and her were put on oxygen for about 5 hrs. Every one else got to see my baby, but I had to wait until I was able to walk that night about 8:00pm to see her. Hubby helped me with my nursed instruction to sit in a wheelchair and I went to the nursery to see my lovely baby, she was perfect and she looked exactly like me at that moment-- My Mini- Me. ( i did see her pics earlier in the day from hubby and my brother, but it was not the same). Then I got her the next morning to ur selves. I was still in shock and I kept on taking care of her, but not believing she was mine. I was just going thru the motion. It took me almost 4 days to realise that she was really ours and here to STAY. :) I can't stop praying and thanking God for this gift that He gave to us after almost 16 yrs of marriage and 7 m/c...Thank You God. Today 10 wks later, my Emily-Jaanvi looks alot like Daddy and she can't wait for him to get home from work to play and cuddle. :)
