Thomas-James-Schoppe`s birthstory

After getting my induction re-scheduled twice (or so we thought), went to my dr. appt. at 3:40 Monday afternoon (April 29) and while I was in waiting room my phone rang (it was Labor and Delivery) asking me if I wanted to come in to have my baby... left dr. office and headed right across street to hospital where I checked in at 4:40 that afternoon. I got hooked up to pitocin at 5:05 and started contracting pretty good every 3-4 min. The dr. came in at 6:20 to break my water (I was dilated to 2 cm). After he broke my water I got on the birthing ball...but not for long b/c labor started to get pretty intense around 7pm that night. I was having strong and regular contractions every 2 min. I wanted originally to wait and see how long I could stand labor w/o epidural...but the pain was so intense that I could not handle it. When I got checked at 8pm that night I was dilated to 4 and recieved my much awaited epi. shortly thereafter. By 10:20 pm that night I was dilated to 8cm and progressing rapidly. I got checked again at 11:00 pm and I was almost complete and was told to get ready to start pushing. Pushing started at 11:45 pm and after 8 good pushes Thomas James Schoppe was born at 12:05 am weighing in at 8lbs even and 20 in long!
