Irelyn-Elizabeth`s birthstory

I went to bed the night before my due date with no signs of labor. Then I woke up to use the bathroom at 11:38, and felt a little like I was in the middle of having my period...so I went back to bed, but the cramping continued. After about 10 more minutes I realized that this may be labor, so I got up and walked around for a little bit. When I realized that the cramping was coming and going, I started writing down the times...and it started off between 4-8 minutes apart so I woke up my husband and we spent some time getting the bags ready just in case. 30-45 minutes later I realized that it was consistently 5 mins apart, and I went to take a shower to see if they continued. I called my doctor and she said if I was uncomfortable then to come in...so I called my mom to come watch my son. In the 30 mins it takes my mom to get here, the contractions became unbearable. We headed to the hospital, and by the time with checked in I was more than ready for an epidural...but they had to assess the baby, get the IV going, etc. before it could happen. They checked me and I was dilated to 6, and by the time the Epi went in about 20 mins later I was at an 8+. Then my doctor came to break my water and 20 minutes later I was ready to push...and after 10 pushes she was here. She came on her due date, one day before I was scheduled for an induction, and WAY faster than I ever thought I would labor!
