Abraham-Gabriel-M.`s birthstory

The Begining:
Water sort-of broke..Leaked from around 8 pm the 18th of March. Around 1am the 19th, contractions (which felt like icky period cramps) started. I called the hospital around 2:15am to let them know and ask if I should come in, and surely they said to come in at 3am when the Ob would get there.

Arrived at the hospital at 3am with my mom, my husband, and met one of my sisters (Angela) there as well.
We mainly hung out in the LOVELY labor n delivery room. I also walked the halls a few times during contractions, (nurse recommended). OY! lol.

So, kept labor natural for many hours until my spine (which I already had nerve issues with prior to pregnancy) started doing scary things, and a spinal was then administered I really was on the fence for a long time, and wanted to keep natural, but I`m glad in the end, that I had the spinal, as my labor was long`ish, and my spine needed relief. ( oh, and due to having been loosing Amnioticfluid for so many hours, they had to start me on induction meds, since my contractions weren`t progressing fast enough for the safety of us both.)

Anywho.. baby didn`t like the induction meds, so they turned it off fo a bit..and also had to attach a little spring-like clip to its head to get a better reading on its heart rate.
It improved after the meds inducing meds were off.

Finally around 4pm that day, I was then given the go ahead to push, at which point the spinal meds had worn off, so I pushed for a while naturally, and stillno go, and spine started acting up scarily again. So the spinal meds were readministered. (wheeu! )

Pushed for 4 hours, and somewhat acrobatically, we tried a few differing positions, and I even tried rocking my lower half to help.and still no go. my pelvic bones were just too strongly connected to let baby`s head pass. Even though I was puching AMAZINGLY says the room of peeps, they even got to see the beginings hairs.. but it turned into a necessity to go in for a c-cection. baby`s head started to swell and I didn`t like that, obviously. So I just pushed through the deadly conctractions while waiting for the anisteasiologist to return.. (meds had worn off for a bit by then, again.)

So, we got me back to being numb again..and wheeled me to the O.R. around 7:30pm
My hubby was here from begining to end and was very brave and sweet. (& cute! in those scrubs. :D xoxo)

by 8:03pm my baby boy, Abraham was brought into the world. (the gender was a surprise to us all along. It was happy to finally Know what we had.) : )

We spent 4 days in recovery, healing up and nursing well. Oh and having lots of pictures taken. :)

A shout out to the Memorial Health Center in Sidney, NE. THE BEST staff members and hospital I have ever been in & gotten care from in my enire life! <3

After we got home on the 22nd, it still took a few days for my BMs to come back..it had been since the 18th @_@.. needless to say, I was having unhappiness where it came to that.. as well as some crazy reoccuring pains from the surgery... Thy tell you to take regular Ibuprofen or Tylanol for the pains. (ummm...) lol. needless to say, the First day/night home was wickedly wretched as far as pain goes.
But each day after I got better n better.
Wednesday I finally had a BM 7:30am. and then at 9:30am baby and I (& mom n hubby) went in for out first weeks check up as well as to get my staples removed.

Here I am, 8 days after Baby was born, and I am feeling Pretty Good. I don`t need much pain meds for relief. and everything seems to be working out well.

Baby and I are adjusted to the nursing lifestyle..even though the middle of night meals are zombie-like, it`s all going much smoother than I could imagine.
Baby is growing and looking fantastic everyday! I guess I am too. ;)P

The End.

Love & Peace (and labor dust to all)

Thanks
