Birth Story

we'll first off on the 2nd nov 09 i had my midwifes appointment for a sweep at 11am whilst the m/w was doing this she 'accidently' broke my waters with her FALSE nails i thn has to rush to the hospital..this is about 12 miles away from my home i went in had a million internals to find i was only 2 cm dialated ..gutted.. i was the giveen tablets to try and soften my cervix still this didnt work so i wondered around the hospital for hours with my mum and boyfriend trying to get things moving but yet still nothing happened by this time it was 10pm and i was knackered so the nurse told me if nothing happened by 11pm i would have to go on a drip to induce my labour which she warned would be really painful..i was more scared about the needle she was sticking in my hand.. she then did one last internal to see how dialated i was when she discovered the miswife hadnt fully broken my waters so she had put me and my baby at risk so she broke the rest of them for me yet i had, had about 7 internals during this day and no 1 else had noticed so 11pm im attached to the drip and withing a few minuets in kicked the contractions at first it was just a little niggle but the got stronger really quick it didnt help that i could hear the women down the hall screaming in pain..i started to get really fustrated and didnt want it to be happening anymore and my whole body was just aching and because i had been laid on my right side for so long my leg had gone dead and i was in so much pain so the nurse started to give me a massage and i went mad and started kicking her all off which i apologized for before i left it got to 2am 3/nov and i was just so tierd my poor mum was holding a cold cloth on my head to cool me down whilst my boyfriend was just holding me telling me how strong i was and how good i was doing..ooh then the baby started coming at around 445am and after that all i can remember was saying ooh i like this song i was trying to take my mind off what was happening by singing lol and then i started on the gas and air because the baby was coming and i was in so much pain but after 2 breaths it stopped working for me so the nurse give me a shot in my bum which made me more relaxed and then came alfie at 525am 3nov but the nurse took alfie and put him in a heater he was bright blue and he wasnt crying so as you can imagine i started to panick and the nurse wouldnt tell me what was wrong but after a few minuets which felt like forever he started crying i was so relieved and we had a little cuddle and then i fell asleep and when i woke up i found 3 nuses stickin my boob in alfies mouth...strange thing to wake up to but yet it was the most painful day in my life but a day i would do over and over again if it meant i get a beautiful baby like alfie at the end of it :)
