Bria-Anne`s birthstory
I went into the hospital at 7:00 pm on Sunday to be induced. At 8:00, they inserted a capsule to soften my cervix (at this point, there was no dilation). They checked me at 12:00 am and I had only dilated to 1cm. I was feeling pretty bummed that it wasn`t going to work. They went ahead and inserted another capsule at this time, and told me to just sleep for the rest of the night. However, I began feeling some contractions, and they gave me medication to take the edge off the pain. At 1:15, to my surprise, my water broke. Now I was REALLY starting to feel some big time contractions. When they checked me, I was 4 cm, so I was at least glad to see progress was being made. They told me to wait until about 6cm for the epidural, so it would hopefully last through the delivery. My contractions got incredibly painful to the point that I could no longer take it. They checked me and I was 6 cm. (This was at about 2:45) So they called for the epidural. INTENSE! INTENSE! INTENSE! contractions.........10 -15 minutes later, I was already 9cm. They had to cancel the epidural as it was too late. I was crying because I didn`t think there was any way I`d be able to do it. It was honestly like pain I`ve never felt before. They called the doc ( who barely made it) because my body began pushing on its own. At around 3:10, he came running down the hall, and at 3:27 my beautiful Bria finally arrived. I guess overall everything happened very quickly, and even though it was quite the painful birth, it was well worth it to finally meet my daughter.
