My doctor scheduled me to be induced on Monday morning, June 8th. (My due date) We were to be at the hospital at 6am in the morning. I was so stressed out and a bit frightened about all of this on Sunday night. I was so close to calling the hospital in the morning and telling them I wasn't going in! hahaha. I really did not want to be induced. ANYWAY, We sent Lily off to sleep at grandma's house for the night and Gregory and I got in bed at about 11:30pm. Light were out at 12:00am. Then..... the contractions started. I had some contractions that were a bit more intense the night before (really low in my belly) but I was able to fall asleep and thought nothing of the ones I started having tonight. All I could think of and say is, "I HOPE THESE ARE DOING SOMETHING TO HELP DILATE ME!". Well, They were about 4-6 min. apart. I could not fall asleep. They were strong and they kept getting stronger. I laid in bed and breathed through the pain until about 3am. They were then coming every 2-4 min and they were painful. I finally decided to get out of bed and try to sleep on the couch. That did not work. So I waited until about 3:30am something to call Labor and Delivery and tell them what was going on. She said I could go in right now. I explained to her that I was trying to let Greg get some sleep and after talking a bit with her she said I could wait as long as I could if I wanted as long as my water did not break etc.

I kept having to go to the bathroom and there was some clear sticky stuff and thats when I knew... "OH YEAH, I'M DEFINITELY IN LABOR!" Relief washed over me. I then decided to get online and write an email to a few people to pass the time... breathing through painful contractions every 2 min apart now. LOL. I'm a good wife, letting him sleep, huh!? At about 4:15am it just got to the point to where I couldn't handle it anymore. I then decided to wake Gregory up. I told him I was in labor and that it hurt. He got up and got dressed, I got dressed. I started putting a few last things in my bag. We grabbed everything and we went to the hospital. I think when I was getting out of the car my water broke but I'm still not sure. haha. Anyway, We went in, they checked me. I was 4cm dilated! NO PITOCIN!!!!! "I'm doing it.. I'm doing it all by myself.!!" (I didn't think my body would do its job, sorry for the excitement, but I was extremely excited.) I continued to breathe through painful contractions. When I reached 5cm about 45min. later I decided to then get the epidural. I am very glad I did because after that I was all smiles. I laughed through pushing and everything. It was really a perfect labor for me. I progressed about 1cm an hour at first. The doctor checked me again and predicted Korben would arrive between 10am and 11:30am. I went from 8cm dilated to 10cm in about 1 hour or so. I started having pain on my left side and thats when they checked me and said I was 10cm! I then started to push on my own to relieve the pain from the contractions. Eventually baby was ready to go and we had a few good pushes and I can just remember feeling him (crowning) and the doctor was putting on his gloves and I'm like CAN I PUSH PLEASEEEEE!? hahaha... I was still giggling and just so excited. After about 5 good pushes. (Less then 5 minutes) My son arrived at 12:12pm.

**Korben Jack Owens made his arrival on June 8th, 2009 at 12:12pm. He weighed in at 8lbs 2oz at birth (Although he made a BM and lost an ounce so he weighed in at 8lbs 1oz the second time. hehehe) and he is 20 inches long. **

I love him sooo much!! I am so thankful!
