Giana`s birthstory

It all started thursday, I called my dr just to ask what he thought I should do. I was losing my muscous plug for three days. It was just lil pieces. He told me to go get checked out in the L &D. So I finished what i was doing and came home to get my bag (I didnt really think we needed it). So we went in to L&D to get checked. After getting monitored and checking her fluid. I wasnt in labor, my contractions were not regular. They were from 2min to 10min apart. I was only 1cm dialated and not effaced. So I was sent home. I went to my dads house and I was really upset. My dad bought me chinese food and we went to pick it up. We got back home and I sat on the chouch and started eating. Then I felt a pop. I froze and my sister said `sissy u ok` I said `umhum` and then moved and there was a gush of fluid then i froze again and said `my water broke.` Then u see my dad running upstairs for a towel and gave it to my sister who puts it under me. Then I try to stand and more gush out so i sit back down. My dad goes n put plastic down in my sister car and we walk to the car while sooo much water gushes out. We arrive back to L&D, I walk in and waddle my self with a towel wraped around me like a diaper and the nurse who took care of me looks at me n i tell her my water broke. So she gets me a room right away and I get ready. Due to my water breaking I was not aloud to walk around. The dr checked me and I was 1 to 2 cm and still not effaced. I started to feel the contractions and it was all going to my lower back. I couldnt get to sleep, so I asked the nurse for medication. It helped me get some sleep thru the night. Then I got checked in the morning and I was only 3cm. All night of labor and was only 3cm. I was upset. So they put me on potocene(sp) I also got the epi put it. The dr who put in my first epi killed me. It was SOOO painful. The epi only worked on one side and I felt EVERYTHING on my right side. They tried everything for me for it to work on my right side. Finally another dr gave me a second epi, which i was afraid of but the pain on my right side was so great. But this dr did such a great job that it didnt hurt as much as the first and it worked on both sides. Now the epi worked on both sides so they put the potocene up twice. In one hr I went from 3cm to 10. I woke up and felt like i had to poop and had a lot of pressure in my back. I called the nurse and she checked me. She said she thought I was complete but wanted a second opition. So the resident came in and check. She said I was and told the nurse to call the dr. The dr then asked if they tried practice pushes but the resident thought that if i did practice pushes that I would have the baby. So the dr comes in and they have me push and with two ten sec pushes they tell me to breath thru it cause the dr didnt have his gloves on yet. Breathing thru it was so hard cause I just wanted her out. So after about 10 to 15 min. My lil Giana was born at 1pm exacly. They put her on my chest and I look at my sister and said `This is so unreal` My husband was so happy and actually watched everything. So they take her to clean her in the room and start to work on me. I teared a lil and I was hemorrhaging so they gave me two things of pitocene in the IV and a shot of pitocene. The dr also had to go up me and take out the clots to help it stop. Then they stiched me up. I got to finally hold my baby and she is soo beautiful. I would do it all over again. Were home now and adjusting to parenthood, which it feels like we have always had her in our life. Love being a mom, I cant stop looking at her. Thank you to all who has been here for me.
