Jericho-Ewan-Hajek`s birthstory

I came to the hospital for my induction at 3 cm. They started Pitocin at around 10:00 a.m. around noon they came in and broke my water I still didn`t feel any contractions but i was certainly having them. I decided to get the epidural while I was completely comfortable so I requested. By the time the anesthesiologist came around I had two major contractions and I was glad I had requested pain relief when I did. I cheated and was really only uncomfortable for 5 minutes the entire time, but I guess they don`t give stickers or cookies for toughing it out so I figure I might as well enjoy the experience without pain. No shame in my game! Our Labor and Delivery floor got packed full of births and I didn`t see any staff for a few hours and finally I told them I was feeling pressure and felt like pushing but nobody came so we waited about 30 minutes, after calling twice.... and Jericho just decided he didn`t want to wait anymore so he started making his debut.... finally the doc and nurse made it in and in 5 pushes an 7 minutes later he was out. No tears no hemorrhoids. Healthy baby! I had a wicked headache from the epidural so I gave birth in style with my shades on because the light was unbearable. I threw up a couple times after the delivery but my headache was gone by morning and my recovery has been incredibly fast. I`m not so happy with the nursing staff although my first nurse was AMAZING, and my doctor was AMAZING, everyone in between was pretty much worthless. Jericho had bruising on his face and so popped blood vessels in his eye because he waited in the canal for so long when nobody responded to my calls. I am irritated by all that, but there is nothing I can do at this point and we are all healthy so I am just thankful for such a great labor and a healthy child.
