I got pregnant with Gavin when I was 16 years old. I never expected to be "the one" who had a baby in high school. I found out the summer of my sophmore year. I was a cheerleader made good grades and loved hanging out with my "friends" I had been dating my boyfriend at the time Justin for about 2 years. I had just started working at my very first. My period was late. I was a little worried because ever since the first time I started my period when I was 12 it had always come every 27 days with out fail. I was a day late but I thought well there is a first time for everything. I waited a couple more days, one because I was scared to know the truth I was in denial Ithought wait just one more day and your period will come on tomorrow and also i didn't have any money until I got my first paycheck which was still like over a week away. i told a girl that I worked with that i thought that i might be pregnant. She gave me some money and said you need to find out now. That night i went to the grocery store and bought a test. I kept it in my car and waited for my mom to go to sleep. Once i was sure that she was asleep I went in the bathroom and took it. It seemed like the longest 3 minutes of my life. The whole time I am thinking I am not pregnant I'm being stupid I'll probably start tomorrow. i should have just waited. I was so wrong. Those 2 lines came up. I couldn't breathe I was crying and scared to death. I knew my mom was going to kill me. I called Justin and told him to get over there right then. He came I told him I was pregnant and he just said everything will be okay. Whatever we broke up when I was 7 months pregnant. I had very high blood pressure the whole time I was pregnant with him medicine wouldn't help it. I was at the doctor every week getting non stress test and at the end I was there 2 times a week. I felt like I lived in the office. I had morning sickness all day every day from the time i found out until he came out. I still have no idea how I gained 60 pounds when i was throwing up as much as I did. When I got to 35 weeks my dr checked me and I was dilated to 1/2 cm. He said that as soon as I was dilated to 1 he would induce me because of the risk the blood pressure would have on him and me. I stayed at 1/2 cm for almost 5 weeks. i was due April 20, 2002 on April 17, 2002 Iwent to the doctor I still was not dilated and the doctor said we can't wait anymore obviously he doesn't wanna come out and going over is a major risk. I got induced on April 18, 2002 at 7:00pm. And the birth story begins. Well let's just say I was suppose to get induced at 7:00pm. i got to the hospital this induction was planned so it isn' like they didn't know or something....and I sat in the waiting room forever. hen I finally got into my room they hooked me up to all the monitors asked me 9.000 questions that have been asked to me a hundred times (shouldn't they write those things down and save them?) They inserted my IV and started the pitocin. The contractions started kicking in not too long after that and I was in pain. My bladder wouldn't completly empty so they had to give me a cathater (spelling?) OHCH! I can't remember exactly what time but sometime that night they came in and checked me and iwas only at a 2-3. They went ahead and gave me the epidural. I was so scared to get this because of all the stories I heard that if they do it wrong it can paralize you. When they stuck the needle in I felt this very sharp pain shhot down my right side and I thought well that it is I am ver going to walk again. They said it was okay and normal. It didn't seem to me like that epidural worked too well and not for very long. They came in at about 3am and checked me again I was at a 4 and the baby was not coming down at all. They decided to break my water. That is when I knew the epidural wasn't working as well as it should be cause that hurt like hell. The nurse said that should get things moving. All of the sudden I was about to throw up I couldn't move I had a cathater an epidural an iv fetal montior contraction monitor that little thing tha goes on your finger and a blood pressure cuff all connected to me. ididn't want to throw up on the floor cause it would have been embarrassing for me and I would hgave felt bad for the person who had to clean it up eventhough I know they see it everyday. So I am screaming at Justin to get me a trash can. He was asleep. He got it to me just in time. Then all of the sudden I started itching everywhere. It felt like someone put intching powder in by bed. They can me some medicine for that and I was good. The epidural started to wear off I kept trying to push that damn button but it never got any better. The next moring they come in to check me I was sure that I was progressing. Nope baby still wasn't coming down which that part i knew because he was all balled up on my left side. It was the craziest thing ever I wish I had a picture. Because they had broken my water it was just baby and he was all the way on my left side rigt under my boob. Anyway I was only dilated to 4-5. I was getting so frustrated. i just wanted this baby out I was so tired and starving. They kept coming to check me I only got to 6 cm by 1:00pm. So now I have been in labor for somewhere around 18 hours and this was taking too long. I was so pissed cause Justin was sleeping and acting like this whole thing wasn't a big deal. my entire family was pissed and wanted to tell him to just leave. We didn't need him there anyway. Finally my doctor comes in and tells me that we are going to have to do a c-section because i was too small. I was so upset and scared I didn't want to have surgery. Then after I got over that iwas mad because i ahd ben threw all this and we could have had this done yesterday. WTF!!! So they come in and give me more medicine in the epidural to get it to surgery level. They made me drink some alkaseltzer i think that is what it was anyway. That came right back up though. And thet told me that i would be getting the c-section at about 3:30. I don't remember exactly what happened but all of the sudden my fever went up and they said we have to get the baby out now. So now I had to choose between my mom who I really wanted back there with me and Justin the daddy. i chose Justin cause my mom said it was only fair. Whatever. His dad was a anastegiologist at another hospital and was there with his scrubs on. Some how he got back there too. I was more than upset. But that is a whole different story. I am laying on the operating table and I start shaking so bad I think I am having a siesure. But I wasn't. They take the baby out and say OMG he has so much hair. I looked at Justin and said does he really and he was like YES!! Gavin Blyne Briggs was born at 2:58pm. 7 lbs 4 oz 21.5 in. and a head full of black hair. No Lie it looked like he had a wig on. You couldn't see his scalp. He was in the nurery rolling back and forth on his back and kicking his diaper off. And he has been just about that way ever since. But he is so smart and so hansome.

I got pregant with Malique when I was 19. I had been married for 7 months and we wanted a baby so bad. I had started taking birth control pills after I had Gavin and my body didn't agree with them so I bled for 3 months. After that I stayed off birth control for a while i wasn't having sex anyway that is until I met my husband. I decided to try the shot when I met him. that didn't agree with m body either I bled for a long time I am not excatly sure of how long I know it was longer than 6 months. Not always heavy but always bleeding until the shot had fully left my system. As soon as I stopped bleeding I had one normal period and the next month I was pregnant. I was so happy. Then 2 days later my husband went to jail and stayed there until Malique was almost 2 years old. I had a pretty uneventful pregnancy for the most part besides a few things here and there. At my 6 week appointment the doctor did and internal ultrasound to see how far along I was. She said she couldn't see a heart beat and by 6 weeks she should be able to see it. she told me I had a miscarriage. I was devestated. I went home and waited on my husband to call. When he called that I night I told him what had happened he said that it didn't sound right and I needed to go to a different hospital because he had a feeling the baby was fine. So I went to a different hospital they did an ultrasound and came back and told me the baby was okay and it's heartbeat was strong. But I had some blood behind my placenta and I was risking a miscarriage I was put on bedrest for 2 weeks. So I spent my 2 weeks in bed. The day my 2 weeks was up I went to a friends house and I started bleeding. I thought you can't be serious i waited the 2 weeks and now I am having a miscarriage as soon as I go done something. I went to the hospital and the bleeding had stopped they did an ultrasound and said everything looked great. Other than that my pregnancy was fine. I got scheduled for my c-section on July 19, 2005. This time my mom got to go back with me. WhenI went back for the c-section pretty much the same thing happened I threw up the drink they gave me and started shaking. i was fine. Although I still don't know why I shake maybe it is my nerves or maybe the medicine. Malique Da'Quan McDade was born at 1:17 pm lbs 3 oz 19in. They said he had alot of hair too. he didn't compared to Gavin he was bald. I had a post partum hemorage. but all that is on my page.....

Keelan-Devon-McDade`s birthstory

I couldn`t sleep at all the night before (March 25) I was so afraid I was going to go to sleep and not hear the alarm clock or something. I fell asleep around 1:00 am and woke back up at 3 am. I just decided to stay up. We left for the hospital around 4:40 and got there at 5am. I got admitted and they sent me up to the labor and delivery floor. They got me in my room took a urine sample hooked me up to everything and started asking me all those questions again. Time seemed to go by so fast all of the sudden it was time to go. We went down to the surgery floor and my husband waited until they were ready for him. When I got into the operating roomthey gave me the spinal. It hurt like hell but worked so fast. They started prepping me for the surgery and brought my husband in. They started doing the surgery at about 7:40 and I started to feel sick. They told me to go ahead a throw up and put i little thing to do it in by my face but I was soo numb I couldn`t even put any effort into throwing up and it just went all over my face. They said my blood pressure had dropped and that is why I felt sick but they had given me something and I should be feeling better very soon. I started crying and my husband was so great he just kept telling me everything was okay. I heard the doctor say that it was a good thing that I didn`t labor because ther were tow places on my uterus that were about to rupture. Then I heard her say something was stuck. I looked at my husband and said `She said something is stuck` I don`t know how the doctor heard me but she did and she said it is okay nothing big what we expect to be stuck is stuck. I don`t know what they expect to be stuck Ididn`t ask. It seemed like it took forever to get him out. Finally they said okay the head is out. And I immediatly asked does he have any hair. They said oh yea ALOT. Isaid they said that last time and my baby was bald. They said no he has a lot of dark hair. Finally they called him birth at 8:00 am. He was pissed. I know he had to be thinking put me back what are yall doing?? My husband went over to him and held him up and he does have alot of hair. He tried to take pictures but something happened to the camera and we inly ended up getting a couple. He was born weighing 7 lbs. 5 oz 19.5 inches long his apgar was 8/9. He is so beautiful and I feel so lucky to have such an amazing family.
