Cameron-Gage-Douglas`s birthstory

On the afternoon of 11/09/09, I was struggling to get to my routine biophysical test at the hospital. I was exhausted, and had a massive sinus headache. The whole morning I had slept, and even thought about postponing the appt until the next day. Somehow I managed to get there. As I am laying on the bed, having the ultrasound, the tech was showing me all the activity he was doing.........sucking his fingers, playing with his hands, etc. She was like he is so active sweetie, and has tons of hair. As she was wrapping up the test, she checked his heart rate...........................she noticed it was alittle higher than normal. The techs there pretty much knew him, I had been going there twice a week for the last three weeks. She double checked his heart rate and it was still the same, so she decided to call my doc just to be on the safe side. She came back in and said the doc was in labor and delivery in the hospital and wanted me to come over to get a non-stress test, just to make sure he was ok.

So I get to labor and delivery...........so as I am gettin checked in the recpetionist said you know you are scheduled for an emergency c-section right?????? I stood there like who me?????? I dont think so, I am just here for a nst. She was ok, I will double check to make sure, but thats what my computer is telling me. So she goes and checks, and comes back and says sweetie looks like you are about to have a baby!!!!!
I immediately become excited but very nervous. I call my boyfriend who was at work, and tell him to get there ASAP. I call my parents and tell them the same.

The nurse takes me to the back and begins prepping me for surgery....my head is in whirl wind!!! I couldnt believe that I was about to meet my son. My boyfriend and mom get there in perfect time. They are both were so excited. My doc came in and basically explains her decision to go ahead with the surgery. She didnt want to take any chances with his heart rate being elevated. She also knew I was more than ready because I had been so uncomfortable the previous days.

The surgery went great. I didnt feel a thing, The whole team was wonderful. Cameron came out with a head full of hair, and the most beautiful cry. I instantly began to cry when I heard him, I felt so blessed and priveleged to be his mom. He had a little fluid in him, so he had to have that cleared before he was able to join my boyfriend and I in the recovery room. Waiting for him seemed like eternity.

The last few days with him have been great. He is perfect in every way possible. My heart is overfilled with love for him.

I want to thank you ladies for sharing this preganancy journey with me, it has been a crazy but worthy ride!!
