Anasofia-Rose`s birthstory

Well, the birth of our baby girl didn`t go quite as we had planned! My water broke on Friday and I was admitted to the hospital and put on antibiotics by Saturday. They were hoping to keep me pregnant just a little longer to allow her to mature but once my cervix dialted to 3 on Monday morning, they decided it was best to induce me. They started inducing me at 11 am and by 2 my contractions were a minute long and two minutes apart and I asked for the epidural! It was a miracle! I was able to rest until it was time to start pushing at 5! I pushed for just over an hour and she was born face up! She is now in the NICU and will be there for a few weeks but she is doing great! All she has to do is start puting on weight and taking all of her feeds by mouth. I can`t wait to bring my baby girl home!

Emina-Maritza`s birthstory

I was induced early Tuesday, August 25th. They gave me prostaglandin gel to start the induction but the baby`s heartrate soon fell below 100 so they removed the gel and then started pitocin. I recieved the epidural soon after but it didn`t work on my left side so I was in a lot of pain. They tried to reposition the catheter but nothing helped, so I ended up pushing my little girl our with no pain relief on my left side. It was painful but quick, I think I only pushed for 20 minutes. She came out very quiet and alert. She barely cried but got an apgar score of 8.
