lexi-skye`s birthstory

i had period type pains in the morning and backache, i had a show at 9.30am on 19/02/08, then lost some blood at 2pm, i was having contractions every 30 minutes, but like false labour id had before werent progressing to anything, by 11pm i was fed up and went in the bath, id had 2 weeks of false starts and was 4 days over. as i got out of the bath i lost quite a bit of blood and all of a sudden my contractions came really strong and fast, me and my boyfriend just ran around the room like headless chickens!lol, flapping about. we had to the wait for his mum to get over to watch the other 2 kids. my boyfriend thought i was going to give birth on the motorway before we even got there lol!
when i got there i was 3 cm dilated, the pain this time was alot stronger than my other 2, with them i had controlled the pain up until the final hour, this time i was in terrible pain, i asked for pethidine as the pain was just get stronger with each contraction, unfortunatley it only worked for a while so i was in agony for 2 hours.
id pre warned the midwife that i dilate really fast at the end, id been 5 mins apart for ages when suddenly they went to 4 mins and then 2 mins, she was just about to check me over when i shouted i needed to push, you should have seen her face lmao!
i pushed lexi out in 8 mins, and breathed the biggest sigh of relief. i cant believe how different this labour was, my others were so easy compared, but she is so worth it, shes my little angel, and i adore her.
after she was born it took 37 mins to pull out the placenta, id had 2 injections and pushed but it wouldnt come out, in the end they had to get a doctor, and i was warned i may have to go to theatre to have it removed, luckily he was a star and pulled it out for me!
baby really well she didnt cry at all when she was born, and has been a dream baby ever since! had her heel prick test today and didnt even wake up! watch this space i could be eating my words in a few weeks!!
