Garrett-Lucas-Castillo`s birthstory

So it all started on Saturday (october 11) and I was experiencing ALOT of backpain... the type that no matter what you do it doesn`t go away. I knew (or at least hoped) something was up. I felt like poo that whole day and I could feel alot of BH contractions which was a little unusual for me cause this whole time I had no idea what a BH contraction felt like. I`d either gone through pregnancy without noticing them or never having them. So I fell alseep around 9pm that night, exhausted, and woke up at 3 with a pain like someone just stabbed me. I had that type of contraction everyone had been talking about.. the kind that take your breath away. I layed in bed and waited for another one.. 8 minutes later and BAM.. I layed in bed for about 30 minutes and timed them.. they were all about 3-6 minutes apart and I knew it was the real deal. I left my hubby in bed and decided to watch some tv in the living room and wait till I couldnt take it anymore. About and hour later I decided to eat and take a shower.. which Im very thankful I did so. About 5am, I woke my hubby up and said we have to go.. NOW. Got to the hospital at 5:30 and in one hour I went from 3cm 70% to 5cm 100% so they gave me my epidural. It was a relief to sleep for the next couple hours and just watch my contractions continue without feeling them. I got stuck at 6cm for a couple of hours but after I got to 8cm things really went quick.. as far as dialation. Since it was a Sunday night and a holiday weekend for the Army (columbus day) they were really short-staffed and 4 babies were being born at the same time! I had to wait while I was 10cm for an hour and a half till it was my turn to push. I pushed for 30 minutes.. then I was told to relax and they`d be back. (they were trying to birth a baby in between mine. lol) So the midwife comes back.. and I pushed for and hour and a half more and finally my GIANT baby was here!!! He was 9lbs 1oz and very much a screamer!! He screams at everything but he`s been a million times better since bringing him home from the hospital. He just didnt like being poked, prodded, and circumsized! poor thing! I tore a 3rd degree tore with him which actually at the moment doesnt feel so bad. It was swollen and hurty in the hospital and the told me not to take a bath and blah blah blah.. but as usual, I dont listen. First thing I did when I got home today was clean my bathtub out really good, pour some epsom salt in it, and hopped in! lol. I feel so much better and much cleaner now so whatever. Anyways, hubby was there and so thankful to experience the whole thing with me. He was so excited the whole time and I was just mad because he was all smiles and wanted kisses... WHILE I WAS PUSHING!! lol. He loves his son to death and barely lets me hold him.. which is fine cause he`ll only be here a little longer and I want them to bond as much as possible. He is very much involved in everything and will even wake up in the middle of the night to take care of him. He`s an awsome daddy and Im so glad the wait is over and he was there with me! Thank you to everyone who has been keeping up with me and my worries and giving me encouraging words and praying for the best! We`re so happy he`s here and healthy and we can enjoy being a family.. even if it will only be a few more days till he goes back to afghanistan.. we feel so blessed to be together and share this memory!
