Cameron-Takumi-`s birthstory

how it started:
i woke up on march 3rd at 8a.m. like it was any other day. i went to go pee and then laid back down. i noticed i felt `wet` when i rolled over. i thought it might possibly be my water leaking but then again i couldn`t smell it to see if it was urine or not. and i didn`t want to wake my husband and ask `honey, does this smell like pee to you??` lol i could imagine the look he would`ve given me. lol so i ignored it and hopped online to check my email. well, at 8:15a.m. i felt a sharp pain in my lower back and my abdomen. i thought `could this be it??` so i walked around to see if the pain would go away or not. and it didn`t. so i started timing them. they were 5 min apart!! (what the hell happened to 10 min apart like my dr said??) so after timing 5 consecutive contractions i woke my hubby up and told him we needed to go to the hospital now. he was like `like now, like now?` lol he`s too cute. i was like `um, yeah i think we`d better.` so we got ready to leave and as i`m gettin dressed more water leaks onto the floor in front of my hubby. poor guy, he was like `what was that??` he must`ve thought i peed myself. so we head to the hospital and by this time the contractions are 3min apart!

the waiting game aka the pain game:
we get to the hospital (by this time i`m in tears) and get checked in. they checked my dilation and i was at 4cm. within a few hours (i have no idea how many cuz i wasn`t trying to look at anything) i dilated to 10cm. the whole time my hubby and my dad kept telling me to breathe.

delivery time (or so i thought)
i was given a muscle pain reliever in my arm that did absolutely nothing (my upper arm still feels slightly numb though) and wheeled into the delivery room where i began pushing. it felt so good to actually push. but i`d get so frustrated that it didn`t seem like i was making any progress and the dr says `it`s gonna be a while.` i wanted to cry when i heard that. the nurses told me they could see his head (about the size of a quarter`s worth) but that his head was `floating.` my dad offered to take photos from `down there.` i told him no but he swears it was the exorcist who told him no. lol i kept pushing and pushing. after an hour or more of pushing with no change in cam`s position the nurses told me to take a break. now, by taking a break they mean lie there in pain and don`t push anymore. well, when you`ve been pushing for so long it`s impossible to keep your body from pushing. so i kept pushing. of course by now i was in so much pain my heart rate actually jumped up to 204 during one of the contractions. all i could do was yell and scream `itai!` which is ow! in japanese. i was so loud my mom said she heard me all the way at the elevator which is down the hall from the delivery ward. (i hope i didn`t scare any women who were waiting to deliver). my hubby and dad took turns trying to calm me down but the pain was so immense i couldn`t relax at all. the dr offered me the epidural and i was like `give it to me now!` well, they took forever!

cameron`s show time:
my mom arrived, the dr mumbled something about me taking a walk (yeah ok, hell no!) and the nurses decided to check one more time and what do yah know...cam was on his way out! (and they told me not to push on my break). i pushed 3 more times and his head was half way out. i was ready to push again and the nurse was like `wait, don`t push.` don`t push? did she actually tell me not to push when my baby`s head is half way out?? she must`ve been crazy! she wanted me to wait cuz he dr wasn`t fully dressed in his gown and gloves. crazy man! he needed to hurry up and i told him so. and 2 minutes later cameron takumi mack popped out! i was so relieved and happy i wanted to cry but i was so exhausted. my husband and i looked at cam in awe. i mean, this is our baby. the lil guy who was kickin my butt in the womb, kickin my hubby whenever he touched the belly, the lil man we had been anxiously waiting for was finally here! the whole process was amazing yet painful. next time (if there is one...currently that`s on stand by until further notice)...epidural all the way!

after the birth:
i was so relieved and exhuasted yet happy. my husband and my dad did an awesome job of coaching me through it all. i wouldn`t have been able to go through it all without them. all the back rubs, hand crush, i mean squeezing, and supportive words meant a lot to me.

special notes: 3/3 is known as `hina matsuri` in japan. which translates to doll festival which is `girls day` in japan. looks like cam is gonna be quite the charmer with the ladies.
