Xavier-Patrick-Griffin`s birthstory

So my contractions started on Monday after supper. I started to really time them at 7:44pm, they came at 2-3mins apart around 11:00pm I got Mike to call the hospital. So I waitted until I felt that I should maybe get there, first delivery so I had no idea how painful they would get and didn`t want to wait until I was screaming my head off and have no meds for it.
So we got at the hospital at midnight and I was 2cm and like 80% effaced.
I was progressing too slowly so I got some morphine so I could sleep a little, it only worked for a hour (4-5am) and I didn`t sleep just relaxed. My contractions got stronger I did get my water broken at 9am. Still pregressing slowly, had breakfast with help from Mike. The hard work started at noon, it`s very fuzzy but I did try the gas, I couldn`t breathe with it and it did nothing the pain was too much. I did get a epidural when I hit 4cm, later got pitocin to get contractions up. I was also getting meds for Strep B(went through 4 iv bags). The doctors were doing everything to make me go naturally but I was already tired so at 8pm my nurse got me ready for a c-section. I remember getting another shot of meds cause the epi wasn`t doing it, it wasn`t numbing all parts. Only half my side. I remember telling all nurses and staff that I was just so tired. At 5am (June 24) Mike passed out next to me snoring so loudly and I`m here next to him in total pain and super tired! I was saying his name loudly and he would NOT wake up at all. I even threw my face cloth after him only to miss him. When the nurse came in I got her to nudge him.
So anyway this resident doctor that I hated came in to see if I made any progression, I told him ``whatever you do don`t tell me to push I`m way too tired and in pain and I`m done - after 34hrs). So he checked me and I was 9cm they went to get the gynecologist which was very sweet (Dr.Rivet) I loved her. She made me push through some contractions to get the last .5cm (at that point) and felt to see if the baby`s head was decending. It wasn`t so they brought me in prep for surgery. I was so happy at this point.
They took the epidural out cause it wasn`t done right. Both times did not hurt just to let you all know. But when they started cutting I could feel a burning sensation at first it felt like a pen writting on me then it burned. So they asked Mike to get out and they put me under. He was born at 7:07am.
I came out alright and so did the baby. 7lbs 10oz and 21inches long.
Havn`t slept much these past nights, about 10hrs total. It`s harder in a semi-private room and with doctors and nurses checking you and baby all the time. I did end up getting a private room for my last days and was able to rest.
He is very worth it, he did very well with all his tests 9/10 1min 10/10 5min apgar. I had a fever after, he was in the NICU cause his temperature was a little low but he did great.
