It’s not really that exciting as it was a planned c-section. I had to go in May 14^th at 10.30am I was first on the list out of three. I was taken to my bed and prepped and then had to wait a long anxious 10 minutes outside the operating room. I was so nervous luckily I had my mum there to support me as most of you know my husband couldn’t make it. I walked into the OR and had my spinal which didn’t work three times! So I had to have the injection done three painful times. People said it doesn’t hurt but it killed me lol. I started to feel warm and tingly and they said it will feel like I’m falling of the bed and I felt exactly that it was so weird. I was like are you sure I’m not falling off lol and at times I actually held onto the bed sheets! I thought I wouldn’t feel be able to move my legs but you can. I could feel everything but the pain which was nice. I think I was the most annoying patient they ever had. I would be like “is he here yet?” every two minutes haha. I could feel some tugging and pulling it kinda felt like a massage lol I then heard the most amazing sound I have ever heard in all my life ~my baby cry~ My eyes just filled up with tears it was amazing. I pulled down the screen because I just couldn’t wait any longer lol I got a good telling off for that! They lifted him up for me to see he looked liked a big blob of blood and gunk lol plus my eyes were really blurry from all the tears. They cleaned him up and brought him over for a cuddle and a kiss and then took him to be weighed. My surgeon was only little bless her she had a stool she had to stand on so she could reach lol she was like omg he weighs a ton I could barely lift him I’m so used to little babies. He weighed 10lbs 5.5oz all his measurements were in the 95^th percentile including his huge head lol. They then explained how they had to do a bigger incision because they were having problems getting a good grip of him. My incision is literally from one hip to the other but it barely shows now. Me and my love were taken into the recovery room where I called hubby I couldn’t stop crying, bless him he couldn’t understand a word he was like is he here then?! He could hear him cry which made him cry it was such an exciting time. I feel so gutted for him missing this amazing experience. I couldn’t take my eyes off him from then on, I never put him down. My recovery was pretty bad I was really nauseous and threw up about 8 times and that made one of my stitches burst luckily I was still numb so I didn’t feel it. Standing up for the first time was torture I was in so much pain that I actually ended up fainting. I discharged myself after 2 days because there was just no point in me being there all they did for me was give me painkillers which they gave me to take home anyway. I started to feel ok 3 weeks pp but I’m still in pain when I wake up in the mornings or when I try to turn in bed. They said my recovery would be longer then normal because of the size of the incision but I didn’t think it would take this long! Anyway it’s all forgotten now I actually want another baby! I never thought I would be saying that lol. He is the best thing that has ever happened to me. May 14^th 2009 is the best day of my life nothing else even comes close not even my wedding lol! J
