Carter-Steven`s birthstory

Went into the hospital Wednesday night to be induced. The doctor swept my membrane which caused me to dilate to 1 cm. She was going to give me cervidil, but baby`s heart rate was too high. Waited about 2 hrs and then I went into labor on my own. After two hrs I had dilated to 2 cm and was having contractions every 6 mins. As the night progressed, my contractions stopped.

In the morning, the doctor started me on pitocin which got me to 4 cm, she then broke my water and turned the pitocin off to see if I`d continue with contractions on my own. They slowed down, but gained in intensity. I asked for an epidural around 5pm and in the next 3 hours I dilated to 10cm. At 8 I started to push. Between contractions the doctor, nurse and I would watch the olympics. After 2 1/2 hrs I finally gave birth to Carter Steven. What an experience!!
