Tobias-David`s birthstory

After my NST Monday, the doctor decided to induce me Wednesday. I was told to report to the hospital at 5:30 am. I immediately went home and started deep cleaning since I knew I wouldn`t be able to do most of the work afterward. I woke up Tuesday and started in again with the cleaning, and my kids were pissed because I forced them to help. In the midst of my cleaning fury, the phone rang; it was the hospital. They wanted me to report that night instead the following morning. I was excited, so I agreed. I stopped cleaning and cooked a couple of meals for my kids, then asked my neighbor to drive me. I got there at about 9:30 pm, got registered, then got in bed and hooked up to the monitors. Tobey`s heartbeat was doing the same as usual so I didn`t worry, I just popped in part one of my Lord of the Rings discs. The nurse kept telling me to get some sleep but that was impossible, so she ordered some sleep medication. I took it because by that time I was contracting every 5 minutes and thought it was unnecessary that I endure the pain of labor. I was asleep within minutes and woke up ready to go to the OR. I had the spinal put in place and settled in to wait for the docs to get started. I felt a lot of pushing and tugging and assumed they were getting me properly situated on the table when my doctor said, `You`ve got a fine looking boy!` I was so surprised he was in there so quickly, then shocked again when the baby started screaming bloody murder! It was so easy and quick I felt silly about my fears over the procedure. After about 10 minutes they brought him over to me. He was a cutie! Then he was off to the nursery for weighing and whatever stuff they do in there. I just lay there feeling really empty and very light. It was a sad moment, realizing I was alone again but my abdomen felt so empty I was glad it was over too...and with such a fine prize at the end!!!!
