Hailee-Renee-Sylvia`s birthstory
Well she`s HERE! Finally!!!!!!!!!!!
It all started on Sunday July 20, 2008......
At about 6pm I started having contractions about every 15 minutes or so, as the hours past, the contractions started getting closer... every five minutes. As of the last dr`s appointment, I was 2cm dialated and 60% effaced. At about 11:30 I couldnt take it anymore and called the Dr, she told me to head into OB Triage. We headed in and called my mom and dad. They met us at the hospital, they hooked me up to the monitors in triage and checked I was still only 2cm & 60% I was soooo MAD! They gave me teo options, I could either take some medicine and go home and get some sleep or I could walk the hospital for an hour and they could check me again. I was by this time, EXHAUSTED and chose to go home and get some rest.... YEA THE MEDICINE DID NOT WORK!!! I woke up every five minutes with every contraction. THAT SUCKED! So, on Monday morning, I woke up and was still having contractions, so I got Stephen up, took a quick shower and said `That`s it! We`re going to walk the mall!` So we headed to the mall at 11:00 am and I got about ten steps in the door and had to stop because I couldnt walk through the contraction. We walked the mall for about two and a half hours, until my contractions were like three minutes apart and were basically going from one to the other without stopping. I called the office and they told me to come on in to triage to get checked. So here I was again, going into the hospital, hoping and praying that this was the real thing and not another false. So my mom and dad were called.... again and we headed in. I got to triage and got checked and while she was doing the exam she went `Well you`re about 3-4cm dialated and there is a bulging..... well.... you`re water just broke.` So here I was, feeling my little girl kick for the last few times before she was born. So, they kept me on the monitors and everything for a little while longer while they got my L & D room ready. I was wheeled upto my room and was asked if I wanted any type of medication and before she could get it out i was like YES! So they got me all hooked up and they checked me and within 45 minutes I had gone from 3-4cm to 7cm! They hurried and took my blood to make sure I could get my epidural and gave me some local medication through my IV. Man i was feeling GREAT! So, the medicine actually made me slow down on dialating adn I got my Epidural which didnt hurt AT ALL! The only thing I could feel was her numbing me. Well after I got the epi, it was all good from there. They came in and checked at about 8:00 pm and at this point I was in and out of sleep and couldnt feel A THING! I was about 9cm at that point and my dr came in and broke my water the rest of the way and noticed that Hailee had a little merconium in her amniotic fluid. So about an hour and a half passed and they checked me again and I was 10cm and ready to start pushing They tested to make sure I could push having the epidural and making my legs numb, I could push just fine so they started me pushing at about 9:30 or so. After about an hour of pushing and an episiotomy (which didnt hurt, just made the pressure go away.) Once her head was out, all she did was blink a few times and look around. After that, one more push and she was fully born and just wimpering a little and I just burst out in tears... I could not believe that my little girl was finally here! Stephen cut her cord and then she was handed over to NICU to make sure she was doing ok with the merconium being in her fluid, they ahd to suck out her lungs and my little girl is such a trooper, let out one good cry and just stopped and looked around and sighed. She scored a 9 for her APGAR! And when they were giving her a shot and everything, all she did was wail once and then she was done. I got cleaned up and stiched up (5-6 stiches I think.) Needless to saay, I will do this ALL OVER AGAIN. She is a doll! I am so in love and her Daddy cant stop staring at her. She slept through the night the first night in the hospital and is getting there with her breast feeding... she`s learning and we`ll get a hold of it. She is absolutely beautiful and the most incredible thing I have ever seen.

Emma-Lizbeth`s birthstory
I went in for a routine doctors appointment. I had a headache, swelling in my legs and abdomen, protein in my urine and a 5lb weight gain in 6 days. Unfortunately I had eaten about 30 minutes before the doctors appointment. The doctor decided to push up my c-section to Friday Nov 13, 2009. I went over to the hospital to be put on the monitors and my blood work done. My blood work came back off so they were going to admit me and monitor the babies for the night. When I was put back on the monitors, they could not fund baby A`a heart beat so they sent me up for a biophysical profile ultrasound. Baby A passed her breathing and movement tests with flying colors. Baby B, on the other hand did not. I was sent back downstairs to L&D and waited to hear the news. Within 5 minutes, I was being rushed to ob/or for an emergency c-section. They got me prepped and got my spinal shot done and laid me on the operating table. My mom came in and they started by making the incision at 4:53pm. Baby A was first and she came out just fine, wailing and breathing like a champ. Baby B was a little more difficult, my doctor had to reach in and pull her out, as she was pulling her out, her placenta decided to come first. She wasn`t moving or breathing and was rushed off to the NICU. They stitched my insides and stapled my skin and wheeled me over to recovery. Both babies went to the NICU because they were only at 36 weeks gestation. I was told that the reason for my headaches and the swelling was because Baby B`s placenta was detaching. Baby A was named Emma Lizbeth and Baby B was named Ellie Rose. I got the chance to visit them in the NICU after coming out of recovery. Both babies were breathing on their own and were not hooked up to anything except for the normal monitors, they didnt need oxygen or anything. On November 13 @ 12 they both were moved one step up in NICU, this is the step in which they come home from. The nurses think that they will be home later this week.
**I will forever believe that Emma saved her sister`s life. If the nurse had been able to find her heartbeat, the ultrasound wouldnt have been done and they would not have known about Ellie`s non-movement and she would not have been alive had they waited until today to deliver them.
I thank God for my girls and am so grateful for the fact that I have two brand new healthy twins and one healthy little 16 month old.
