Jamie`s birthstory
So on the morning of the 17th, about 1 am I woke up to use the restroom. It was like I just sprung right out of bed too which is unusual because usually if it`s the middle of the night and I have to pee I will wait a second and wake up a little bit, but this time it was like it was just automatic lol. So I used the restroom and as I am walking out the door I felt this big gush of water. And for a second I thought I had peed my pants lol so I went back and checked and all the fluid was clear so it wasn`t urine and it finally dawned on me that my water broke. But then I kept feeling gushed of water coming out every few minues, and it scared me because I didn`t know that could happen. I thought it was just one big gush and that`s it. So I woke up my mom and we went to the hospital, they checked me and sure enough my water had broken and I was 2 centimeter dialated. I wasn`t having any contractions though so they started me on Pitocin to start the contractions. So I was checked into a room and after about an hour I asked for some pain releif so they gave me something called New Bain. I`m telling you what, that stuff makes you higher than a freakin kite!! LMAO! I hardly ever take so much as a tylonal so it really affected me. It`s excellent at releiving the pain but it only lasted about 3 hours, and the doctor said usually only the first shot of it works, and after that the second and third shots don`t really work. So when it wore off I asked for an epidural, by that time I was at 3cm dialated so they went ahead and did it. It did not hurt to get it, it just feels like a tiny little bee sting in your back and that`s it. And boy was I glad I had it! They give u this little button you can push to keep administering the medicine, and I was sitting there pressing this button just repeatedly lol until the nurse informed me that no matter how many times you press it, you only get one shot of pain releif every 10 minutes. You better beleive I was watching that clock like a hawk and pressing the button exactly every ten minutes lol. Well I was in labor for 23 hours before I was finally dialated enough to push. It took me about an hour to push him out. You can`t really feel pain when you have an epidural and u push, but you definitly do feel a lot of pressure. It feels like someone is ripping you a new asshole, lmao. When people say it feels like pushing a bowling ball out your ass, they are not kidding. Well I just kept pushing and finally his head came out, and once his head came out he just slid right out. He was screaming when he was born and that was a releif cause I knew he was breathing at least. They laid him on my chest and the feeling I had when I seen him and held him was indescribable. It was a mixture of just pure happiness that he was here, releif that it was over, and awe because I couldn`t beleive he had been inside me. He was 7lbs, 3 oz and 20 inches long. He was 3 weeks early and did have jaundice, so they put him under the billirubin lights and it helped a lot. They also have something called a billy blanket, which is just the same thing as the lights except it`s a blanket you wrap around them when you feed them. They gave him to me in the middle of the night to feed him, and he looked like a little glowworm lol. I kept singing him that song that goes `Go little glowworm, glimmer glimmer` lmao. But I tell you something, after the baby is born you are in such pain down there it`s unreal. I only had to get one tiny stitch which was pretty good for him being my first child. But it was so sore down there I couldn`t even pee after I had him. But it gets a lot better a few days after they are born. I took motrin and that really helps a lot with the swelling and pain. I had him on Saturday the 18th and came home on Monday the 20th. He is such a good little baby. When I left the hospital he was drinking one and a half ounces of formula, and now is up to 4. He used to wake up every 3 hours to be fed, but now is waking up every 4 hours. You can`t really let a baby go past 4 hours without eating so if he doesn`t wake up I wake him up to feed him. But trust me he doesn`t like to miss a meal so I usually don`t have to wake him lol. He is so cute too. Although he was early and only weighed 7lbs, 3 oz, he is still pretty fat lol. He has the cutest little double chin and when he smiles you can see a dimple on his right cheek. He hardly ever fusses but that`s because he burps really well. I usually get a burp out of him for every 1 ounce he drinks. Sometimes he even burps on his own, and sometime even if he only drank 1 ounce he will burp like 4 times in a row lol. Adjusting to life with him has been pretty easy. I used to take care of my neices and nephews all the time when they were tiny so the whole diapering, feeding, bathing , etc is not new to me. Everything just seems to come so naturally to me when it comes to taking care of him. I do worry sometimes because sometimes he won`t drink his usual amount of formula, and it worries me because I wonder if he is getting enough to eat. But he has his first pediatrician visit on the 29th, so I will ask the doctor about it then. Everyone who sees him thinks he is just a little doll, and he is. I can see his father in him, but he gets the pretty from me lol. Rob has not come to see him at all. I left him message after message when I was in the hospital and he never showed up. I called him when my water broke and he sounded pretty surprised but claimed he was out of town. I don`t know what he was doing and I don`t care but there should not have been anything so important he couldn`t have come back into town to watch his son being born. Then I called him when Jayme was about 3 days old. I called his home phone and not his cell, as soon as he heard my voice he hung up. Then he sent me a message on Yahoo and claimed his phone dropped the call and he didn`t have my number, which is bull because I gave him my number and house phones don`t drop calls. So I decided to be nice and give him the benifit of the doubt even though I didn`t beleive him. So I called him and he asked how much the baby weighed and asked if the baby was healthy. I told him he had jaundice from being early but other than that he was healthy. So then he said that he would store my number in his phone and get a hold of me when he wasn`t working. I told him he could come see Jayme whenever he wanted and he said OK. Now mind you Jayme was 5 days old before he even bothered to ask about him. That was 2 days ago and I have not heard from him since. And this is the man who claims he wants custody of my child yet he doesn`t see him and it took him 5 days to even ask about him. But that`s OK. I filled out the child support papers and on the papers it asks if the father comes to see him and I put No. That just makes him look bad when we go to court. Now, I can understand not wanting to get attached to a child if you don`t know if he is yours or not. But it is not going to hurt Rob to come over and see the baby for a little bit. He isn`t going to get attached just by looking at him. You would think he would be at least a little bit curious as to what he looks like but he`s just not. And it really hurts because he does have 2 other children that he sees a lot of and yet he doesn`t want to come see our child. Jayme is no different from the other two kids. But I try not to dwell on it. It does make me sad but I am so focused on taking care of Jayme that I hardly have time to think about it. Anyways. So that`s my birth story, if anyone has any questions about the whole experience feel free to ask. I`ll be blunt about it too, I won`t sugar coat anything LOl.
