Official Birth Story!
We had a scheduled induction for Midnight on Monday May 19th. I was very anxious and called in around 9pm to make sure there were beds avail and they would not be sending me home. They said to go ahead and come in as scheduled. We got in exactly at midnight and got settled into the room. It all became so real, I was really nervous. The doctor checked me and I was still the same "fingertip" and 50% effaced. I was dissappointed but they said it was a great start and we should be having a baby today...
They inserted a pill behind my cervix to ripen it. That took 4 hours and the doctor came in to check and I was only 2 cm and 50%. They put in another pill (saying sometimes it takes up to 3 because I was getting discouraged) and another 4 hours later they checked me again. I was only 2 cm and 70% by this time. In the meantime with all of these cervix checks and contractions I was in a lot of pain. Lot of cramping and they gave me Fetinol or something like that... it was my favorite part of the PRE labor. It took the edge off and I became a lot easier to deal with...
Because there was such little activity, another doc came in to check me AGAIN and decided she was going to strip my membranes. OWW it would have been nice for her to let me know in advance. It felt like she shoved her whole hand in my 2cm cervix. Needless to say I got more Fetinol and was back to normal again...no more crying. Soo... my doc came in decided to check me again, after the membrane sweepage and NOTHING STILL! He then gave me my options. He said I could go home *where I started hypervenalating and asking why?? After ALL this...WHYYY or I could put my odds at a C Section to over 50% and continue to push my body to do its job. I decided to try harder. There was NO WAY I was going home after this! By now it was about 8pm or so and I had been having contractions very regularly not to mention the cervix torture. But no change...
This is when the doc recommends a procedure that is a small balloon that inflates the cervix. I agreed, as I am onboard with anything at this point. The procedure gave me light cramping but overall was fine. The doc informed me that I had moved onto 3 cm on my own and the balloon just fell out as opposed to being pulled out and stretching the cervix. YAAY! Progress!
So, this is when the doc decides to break my water and up my Pitocin (i had a small drip of pitocin this whole time) this was around 11pm-12am or so... I am not sure...
After this happened, I began having over the top contractions that I couldnt breathe through. They were so painful I thought I would pass out with each set. At first I had a small break between them, and all of a sudden they overcame my body one after another after another. I was shaking, crying, but mostly trying to BREATHE. Oh yes, epidural. Well, they didnt seem to think I needed it at this point since last I checked i was 3 cm but I DEMANDED it. I was in so much pain and the Fetinol was no longer working. The Anesthesologist got in (was a complete asshole) and at this point I could not speak let alone comprehend words. So I demanded my health record is fine and "just start NOW" was more like it.
Epidural didnt hurt at all. It was really hard to stay still during crazy contractions. Which I had 4 during the while thing. OW so epi is finally in but it only worked on my left side. I could feel horrendous pain on my right pelvic area. I mentioned feeling HUGE amounts of pressure like a BM but on the right side only. They repositioned the catheter and I felt a small amount of relief on my right side and total numbness on my left. This is when I felt like my vagina was going to explode. I felt below and HER HEAD WAS CROWNING! I said "I think I feel her head!" In a panic
They didnt believe me and slowly and calmly went to check and YES it was her. I went from 3 cm to 10 cm with NO pain meds within about 1-2 hours
They scrambled to prepare for birth while I tried to suck her in as much as possible, she was coming! It was SO hard not to push her out, took a lot of concentration. The doc asked me if I could feel the contractions and I couldnt tell all I could feel was the need to push so he gave me the go ahead.
Literally 4-5 min later she was out. Minimal tearing, & No pain since the Epidural JUST kicked in for the last 4 min of labor haha
Delaney Lynn was born at 2:43 am Tuesday May 20th weighing 6lb 7 oz

Delaney Lynn was born Tues @ 2:43am :) cant recall exact details of labor... was induced, stayed @ 2cm 70% all of monsay and dialated from 3-10cm and delivered in less than 2 hours... epi didnt take because contractions were so piled on top of each other> Worst pain ever! Felt pressure (they thought I was still 3cm, and could feel her head crowning!!! They couldnt believe it and were so unprepared, i had ger within 5 min of telling them i could feel her head... minimal tearing 6lb, 7oz SHE IS SO PERFECT
