Jaxon-Nicholas`s birthstory

Thursday July 17th- I went in for my 38th week prenatal appointment and I still wasn't dilated or effaced at all. We also had an ultrasound scheduled for that day and they estimated Jaxon to weight about 5.5 lbs. My blood pressure was high for the second week, I had been having bad headaches and protien was found in my urine so I was sent to Labor and Delievery to run some more tests. My blood pressure was monitored for about an hour and was still high so they decided to induce me!

Around 5pm I was given Cervadil (which takes about 12 hours to work, usually) to soften my cervix. I started having contractions around 4:30 am on Friday morning. My water broke on it's own around 5:30 am and I was in labor until around 1:45 pm and was about 4 cm dilated. Jaxon's heartrate was dipping with each contraction and since I wasn't very far along my doctor decided he needed to do a c-section.

At 2:13 pm Jaxon was born!! He weighed 4 lbs 11 oz and was 19 3/4" long! He is small but healthy and already up to 5 lbs! He is an amazing baby... we couldn't be happier :)
