was 10 days overdue, and had been given a sweep and booked for induction 4 days later, went home and started to have contractoins 4 hrs later, we had not felt baby move for a couple of hours and contractions were coming every 5mins so we left for the hospital when we got there they could not find a heartbeat initally so was transferred over to the consultant lead unit for monitoring and babys heartbeat was very low and not recovering so was put in for c-section immediately. was a scarey experience but happened so quick that it wasnt until later that the seriousness of the situation hit me. but my daughter olivia was born screaming her head off covered in meconium but very healthy. i have recovered from my c-section well and found that it was no where near as painfull an operation as i had expected. she is now 3mths old and doing well and i am now looking forward to planning my next baby later next year.
