Jacob-Anthony`s birthstory

Well I woke up at 4am Monday morning thinking that my water may have broken so of course I did what all women who think they`re in labor do.....or not. I got up took a shower repacked my bag and waited for contractions to start. They didn`t so I finally called the dr. and she asked me to come in because my GBS results hadn`t come back so I took out all the trash so it wouldn`t stink while at the hospital lol then stopped and got gas and headed to the hospital. About 10 mins into the drive the contractions started, but they weren`t bad. I got to the hospital at 6 am and my water hadn`t broken but I was definately contracting and still at a 3 but 95% effaced. They had a very difficult time getting my iv started and finally had an anestesiologist come in and start my iv at 8:40am at this point I was at a 6. I had planned on having an epidural but first you have to get so much fluid in. I was ready at that point for some relief. It was apparently a very busy day for the anestsesiologist because by the time he made it back to me for my epi I was contracting regularly and they were strong. They sat me up and started my epi and all the sudden the contractions were worse. Before he could finish I was screaming I need to push!! and they of course were like no you can`t we have to get the dr. My nurse was so wonderful she kept me focused and breathing. as soon as he finished the epi and i was allowed to lay down i was fighting to hold Jacob in until the dr. was there to catch. The second she walked in she checked me and said he`s almost here 2 pushes and this pain will end. (the epi never had time to kick in) I pushed twice literally lol and my angel was born. after the 3 stitches I had to get the epi partially kicked in and i was numb for no reason lol. I must say the pain was not as bad as I thought it would be. You probably couldn`t tell that from my screams though lol.

Jacob was very healthy but being preemie he did struggle. He had a difficult time maintaing his body temp most of the day bt had it mastered by 8 pm last night and had a hard time nursing but he mastered that tonight!!
