Ellis-Alena-Macdonald`s birthstory

Well i was taken into the hospital on friday the 3rd of oct , and gaven a prostoglanden pesary at 3.30pm to see if that would help soften my cervix if not they were going to start me off the next morning but within 20 minutes my contractions were coming thick and fast and by 8 pm i was checked and was at 3cm dilated and moved down to the labour ward as they thought ellis would be arriving very soon.

so when i was checked at 1 am and i was still 3 cm and knackered then the pain suddenly stopped and my contractions then became very erratic so at 6 am they gave me the syntosin drip OMG talk about the mother of all pain, my contractons from then on in were back to back no rest in the middle and i was still only 3 cm dilated.

Bare in mind i was only using a tens machine and gas & air still by about 12 noon i was begging for a C section i know i said i would never do it but needs must here ladies, and i was told No how unfair is that but i did get diamorph wow hated being out of control but hey what a stone you get and for the next 5 hours i still begged for C section only to be told No every time, as i was ok although Ellis`s heart rate was dipping a bit.

By 5 pm i was 7 cm dilated and im not quite sure what had happened as i was about to get an epidural and i had not asked for one my mum filled in some blanks, they had decided to give me one for 2 reasons,
1st to stop me pushing
2nd i was being preped for a C section
so as i was being into the position i said i can feel something between my legs so they made me swing back round onto the bed and her head was there and less that 15 minutes later Ellis Alena was pushed out into the world at 7 cm dilated weighing 9lbs 1oz . It turned out that her shoulders were stuck in my pelvis just like i had told them 5 weeks before she was born, and no one had listened to me, so thanks to my obst i ruptured inside, but i got the most beautiful baby girl that i have longed for for over 16 years. I love being a new mum, and Ellis is just a joy .

Lucas-William-James`s birthstory

Well it all started on Sunday when i was taken into hospital to be induced all i thought was great one dose of prostin and i would be away, Not this time got the first dose on the Sunday about 3pm and yes the twinges started and they were sore so after a while i put on my tens machine it helped , i then decided to go for a bath still the pain was irregular so the midwifes were not overly fussed with me. The next day i got my second dose of the prostin and again the pains started but irregular by 11pm that night all pains had stopped and in was asked did i want to go home talk about feeling dejected so i refused and told the midwife that i was in to be started early because was a big baby and i would not be able to deliver him if he was huge( i dont think they were happy with me so the 3rd day i was checked and told that my waters could be broken. At 1.30pm i was taken down to the labour ward to have my waters broken but as the registrar went to break them she suddenly stopped and said she could not do it, i would have to be prepped for and emergency section and his hand was below his head and if it came out first then i would be sectioned there and then.I had to wait till my tummy was semi empty as i had had my lunch not that long before. So after a 6 hour long wait for empty tummy and theartre to be made ready i was taken in water broken and a little wait to see if babys head came down instead of the arm and thank god it did, i was then taken back into the labour room for all the fun and games to start and within half an hour the contractions started about every 2-3 minutes apart. The midwife made me change my positions every half hour so as to try and turn Lucas he was back to back with me and i know this can make the labour longer. I had pre warned her that my body starts to involuntarily push and at 4cm i started to push, after trying not to push for about 1-2 hours i could hold on no more thats when the reg had to be called in as his heart rate started to dip and when i heard the words shoulder displacia i know what was happening he was stuck just like his sister had been the year before i know is could lead to me being taken back into theartre them came the big ones he was in fetal distress as his heart rate was still dropping the next thing i know is im pushing like mad and he is coming if i hadnt done this i was going back to get sectioned so after lots and lots of pushing i started to deliver him. Lucas was eventually born at 1.08 in the morning. Even after he was born the problems didnt stop there he didnt pink up so they had to put him on oxygen and call the pediatric doctor to make sure he was ok his head was congested and was bruised from his chin to the back of the head he also had scratch marks of where they had to check the blood for his oxygen levels and he wasnt crying not even after getting his vit K injection but after a few hour we were allowed to go back to the ward. Lucas is doing better with every day we are now home he has jaundice and he is on gaviscon for his tummy, it wall also be a few weeks before he gets his scan for his kidneys to see who they are doing and if they have went down any fingers crossed
i am just totally in love with my new little man and his brothers and sister all seem to be quite taken with him as is daddy i just dont know i did all the worrying about he has just fitted in perfectly like a piece of a jigsaw.
