Jaime-Rose`s birthstory
Our sweet Jaime Rose came into the work squaking while just her head was out! Rewind to my due date, May 25th, 2008. No sign of Jaime. So, we're going to MAKE her come out! Enter mother, father, and also VERY pregnant sister. We're going to the mall to walk. AND WALK and walk and walk! As fast and as long as I possibly could! Got home later that night. Still no sign of Jaime. Sleep. Wake up Monday morning, still no sign of Jaime! So, the day progresses as usual. Stuff my face, take a nap, watch TV, stuff my face. Then later, not knowing, starting feeling icky. I thought maybe I just had bad gas!! lol! So I made dinner, having what a now knew what were contractions. Ate dinner, sent Geoff to rent some movies. Then the rain came. So we sat down to watch Office Space. I let out the dog into the rain and went back to the movie. A few minutes later a let my MUDDY WET dog in who promptly started racing the house tracking his WET MUDDY feet everywhere! GET HIM!!! We were chasing him around and got him cornered behind the couch, me bent over the back holding on to him. All of a sudden, GUSH! Ummmmm, I think my water just broke or maybe I peed a little lol! I went to the bathroom sitting on the toilet with a slight sound of a trickle. Geoff says "are you peeing?" Nope, I said. But even then I didn't REALLY think it had started. SO, we went back to watch Office Space. Fast forward 10 minutes later, HUGE GUSH!!! OK, now I know that was not pee! Again sitting on the toilet with Geoff looking at me half panicked, half excited! "So, do we go to the hospital???" Yes!!! 10pm Monday May 25th, Geoff ran around the house grabbing my bags and the baby carseat and we were off! We stopped and picked up my mom and phoned Geoff's parents on the way there! We got to the hospital, yes your water is broken, yes you are in labor BUT! go home for 12 hours then come back!!! WHAT??? Go home??? Without the baby??? So, about to leave when they say OH let's check your blood pressure one more time! Turns out to be really hi so OK, we'll keep you! YAY! Not going home with out a baby! Thus, for the next 24, yes 24 hours I labored with no drugs in a triage bed because all the labor rooms were full! You're next in line the nurse always said! Only an hour more and you'll be in a labor room! LIERS!!! There was ALWAYS someone ahead of me. So I had planned to have a natural birth and resisted everything for pain that was offered. EXHAUSTION! At this point, Tuesday at 10pm, I was FINALLY going to a labor room! After being awake now for 32 hours!!!! You cannot sleep in those crappy triage beds! Enter the labor room! So happy to finally be in a awesome bed, but having MAJOR contractions at 8cm! Finally, after trying so hard I caved. BRING ME THE EPIDURAL!!!! They had me propped up on the side of the bed waiting for anesthesia for an HOUR! Finally, when it was in, relaxation! Only for 45 minutes though. I kept telling my nurse, it feels like I have to poop! She says, you don't, it's the baby's head. I say, OK, well if I poop somebody has to clean it up!!!! lol! OK, it's time to push. I pushed and pushed for 2 hours. Finally, she was stuck. You need an episiotomy. NO!! I'm scared!!! Well, it's either that or vacuum or foreceps! OK, episiotomy!! One snip and out she popped! I cried, I don't know if Geoff cried. My mom cried and the rest is a HUGE blur!!! After about 40 hours of being awake, I was exhausted! The showered me off, and wheeled me and my new sweet Jaime to our hospital room where we slept for 3 hours. Then began the beginning of my life! I love her! She's worth every minute of everything!

Type of delivery: Vaginal (without pain relief)
Duration of labor: 3.5 hours!
Weight @ birth: 8lbs5oz
Length @ birth: 20.5 inches
Sienna-Elizabeth`s birthstory
It all happened so fast here's the timeline!
11pm: Can't sleep. Tossing and turning, sore hips, decide to go to the couch and watch TV. Fall asleep at some point. Toss and turn on the couch from sore back.
2:45am: Wake up, back REALLY hurts, feel like I have to poop. Go to the washroom, have a poop, and a contraction that HURT! Ok, that wasn't braxton hicks, that hurts A LOT!! I should start timing these.
2:51am: First contraction timed. They are coming 5 minutes apart.
3:30am: Ok, if I have one more on time then I will call my mom to come over. It comes, I call her. I go and tell Geoff that I'm in labor, but he can stay asleep, my mom is coming over.
4:00am: Contractions 4 minutes apart, mom arrives, we watch some house renovation show for an the hour and breathe through contractions that are still about 4 minutes apart.
5:00am: I walk around a bit and they start coming 2-3 minutes apart. I wake up Geoff and tell him he needs to get up and take a shower and get ready, we're going to the hospital soon. My mom calls Geoff's mom to come over and stay with Jaime.
5:45am: Contractions are INTENSE! I don't want anyone to touch me or talk to to during them. Geoff's mom arrives and we are off to the hospital.
During the drive I had about 6 contractions, and we only live about 10 minutes from the hospital. My mom said it was funny, she was following us in her car and she could tell when I was having one because Geoff would speed up to 100, then back down to 80 when they stopped lol...
6:00am: Arrive at the hospital, get checked in triage, "Oh girly" she says, "you're 7cm already!" And they whisk me off to a labor room.
6:05am: I WANT AN EPIDURAL!!! The anesthesiologist says Geoff or my mom can stay but one has to leave. My mom leaves, goes to the cafeteria to get a coffee. I sit up to get the epidural and my water breaks and I immediatly feel like I have to push and SCREAM, "OH MY GOD, MY WATER JUST BROKE AND I SHE'S COMING OUT!!!!" Contractions become SO intense and I'm screaming. The anesthesiologist says he can't do it, the nurse better check me. She looks and says "I need people in here NOW!, she's about to deliver, someone find her doctor!!!" Mean while my mom is downstairs thinking I'm getting an epidural and things are going to slow down for a few hours...Geoff says I turned animalistic, screaming and growling lol...
6:15am They lay me down and give me some gas to breathe during contractions, I can feel her moving down, and she's really coming out...
6:20am: My doctor rushes in, in jeans and a take top, puts her keys down, put on a gown and gloves, sit's down and says OK push!!!
What a difference it was pushing without an epidural. My body just took over and I was along for the ride. I had no control whatsoever. I felt EVERYTHING too. It hurt more then anything in my entire life but I wouldn't change anything, I'm so proud of myself for doing it!
6:27am: Sienna Elizabeth is born after 2 contractions and 6 pushes. They put her on my belly and I we both burst out crying.
6:35am: I realize that my mom isn't there. I ask Geoff to go find her. He finds her and tells her that the baby is here. She's like 'Not funny Geoff'. No really, she's here. She comes into the room shocked at what has just happened!!!
6:50am: The doctor stitches me up, I had a very minor tear. My mom, Geoff and I oogle at Sienna, talking about how wild this is!!! Being that my first labor was 30 hours, this was NOT expected lol! I didn't even have chance to be tired afterwards lol!
