Carys-Emily-Annabelle`s birthstory

They broke my water at 4:15pm, nothing much was happening so they gave me pitocin at about 5:30pm. The nurses were fantastic! My mom and mother in law were with us, too. my stepdaughter was there for a little while colouring on undershirts for the baby - so cute. The contractions weren`t too bad at first, but the baby was turned a ilttle and was putting pressure on my bowels - so everytime I had a contraction, I wanted to have a bm. What a great memory - lol. They gave me an epidural - I loved it!!!! And I had some Fentanyl for pain from the pressure, my husband, the nurse and I watched T.V., and hung out with family until about 11pm when they checked me and said I was 5-6cm. They said this is when they start timing for the labour process. At 1am my nurse checked and said I was at 9cm and it would be a few hours and then went on her break - about 5min later I looked at her relief nurse and said `I want to push - I want to push now` She checked me and said I was at 10cm. I had my beautiful little girl at 1:28am. I was oblivious at this time! lol. She tore me alot and they stitched and controlled bleeding for about 45min. My husband was awesome. I don`t remember, but at one point, during a contraction he was trying to say something `philosophical` about the whole thing and I guess I looked at him and said `Are you seriously talking to me right now???` After that, he just supported me through it. While I was pushing, I didn`t think I could do it anymore and asked him for help. `Please help me, I can`t do it`. Funny how it`s hard to remember the pain now. She went down to 5lb 9oz when we left the hospital but is almost back to 6lbs. She`s in preemie clothing lol. All those clothes we have, and they don`t fit. Her face was perfect when she came out - she spent so little time in the birth canal. She`s my new best friend.
