Brady-John`s birthstory

Well...we had a doctor appointment on the 5th, they said that nothing had changed, still thick-not dialated at all...ect...we talked about inducing on the 16th if I didn`t go by my due date of the 11th...Yeah......

That night my husband read our little books to me and my tummy and we sang a couple songs together for our baby and proceeded to go to bed...I wasn`t feeling very good but couldn`t figure out why...not pain...just not `right`

About 30 minutes later...I thought my water broke...I woke my husband and told him...he wasn`t very coherent and told me `not to move`...I gave it a few minutes and woke him again...

(gonna have to finish this later...Our little boy is awake)

When I woke him again he said "turn on the light"...so I leaned over and turned on the light and again just say there. I waited a couple more minutes and woke him again..."babe, its still coming"...he woke up this time and said "well-what do we do?"...I said "I think we go to the hospital"...my poor husband had been up all day at work where it is never slow and had just gone to bed at 30 minutes earlier--He walked around getting ready say the whole time "I don't know what to do, what do we do?". I packed the bag for the hospital, got dressed-as my husband looks over at me and says "you're wearing that?". I smiled and said "yup, I am".

We arrive at the hospital in the ER since the main doors are locked after 9pm. I had to go through the ER process and they asked me how far apart my contractions were...I said I wasn't having any--but I think my water broke--Finally they allowed me to go to Labor and Delivery (in a wheelchair-????-Procedure I guess)

We got to labor and delivery--they hooked me to a monitor where it showed no contractions, they checked me for my water breaking and said it didn't---but my doctor wanted to see me so get some sleep and he would be there in the morning. They also checked and I wasn't dialated at all and 0 effaced. It was about 11:30pm--they decided to move me to a "normal" room and not a L&D room. They set my husband up with a bed to sleep on and kept the monitor on me. I laid down and then...

I started having little pains...I woke my husband, who said they told me to get some sleep and I wasn't anywhere neer having the baby. So I tried to lay down and the pain got more intense--I walked around the bathroom in my room in order to not disturb my husband sleeping for about 20 minutes and when the pain got worse I woke my husband again, who said this time "Carrie, you need to call the nurse and ask them for something to help you sleep"...so of course I said "ok". I called the nurse and she checked with my doctor and decided it was okay to give me something to sleep. It was about 1:30am. I took the sleeping pills and then they decided they wanted to check me again...Low and behold now on sleep meds I was 100% efaced and at 2 cm. This woke my husband up since we went back into a L&D room and it was clear that we were going to have a baby :)

The contractions got worse and it was hard for me to lay down, I was better walking around and the only place I felt comfortable was on the toilet (not going--just sitting there). My husband sat in there with me on the edge of the tub. When the nurse came in to give me my IV she had me come out of the bathroom and said I had to stand still so she could get it in...I couldn't becuase she couldn't get the IV in in the middle of 1 1/2 minutes while I wasn't contracting...so I told her if she wanted to do it and didn't want me to move she would have to put it in while I sat on the toilet in the bathroom--which she did (a first for this nurse).

Needless to say I ended up starting to push around 8am--passing out between pushing and saying some pretty wacked out stuff (my husband could tell you more on that than I can). We had our beautiful baby boy at 10:50am on June 6, 2008. He is perfect :) The only other little thing is my mother had left her camera in the birthing room and when the nurse saw it she thought it was a good idea to take pictures while I was having the baby...hum...on moms camera...uh...I saw her camera the other day and they were still on there...she said she didn't want to delete them in case I wanted them...Yeah...they are errased!! Noone needs to see any of that!

Thats my story in a nut shell...I would do again in a heartbeat :)

I am puting in my birthstory here...since I don't know where I wrote Brady's :)

My doctor appointment was on June 30th, and my doctor informed me that he was going out of town starting on the 1st through the 13th. He set me up for a stress test on July 3rd (I was due July 2)--he said I wasn't near having the baby so he also set me up with another appointment and a second stress test on July 9th. He said if I hadn't had her by his return he would schedule an induction on the 14th.

The night of July first I went to bed like normal. I woke up at 1:45 am not feeling good...couldn't get comfy. Slept on the couch and woke again at 2:45. My lower area hurt a little so I played on the computer for about 15 minutes. My husband came out and asked if I was ok and I said I was just had pains in my V-JJ. So he went back to bed...about 5 minutes later I went in and said "remember when we went to the hospital with Brady and I told you it was kinda starting to hurt?" He said yeah...I said "it kinda feels like that" ( I didn't pay attention to contractions with Brady because 1)I was already at the hospital prior to them starting, 2) I was on sleep meds because noone believed I was in labor...so needless to say I didn't know what the beginning contractions felt like. I told my husband I was going to take a shower, get ready, call mom to come watch Brady and then go to the ER. I laid next to him and he asked if I was going to get in the shower and I said yup "as soon as this one passes". So it passed and I got in the shower (had two contractions in the shower) By the time I got out and got ready it started to hurt. I called my mom (who isn't good under pressure at 4am) I said "Mom, we are heading to the hospital--do you want me to wake Brady and bring him there or can you come here?"...She said "You can bring him here"...I said "Are you sure you Want Me To Wake Him up and bring him there"...she was like "OH--NO--I will come there". Two minutes later my dad called and asked if it would be ok if he came until Brady (and mom) woke up? I said sure (I didn't care who came--I was hurting by now--they live 1 minute from me). When Dad finally got there (seemed lke forever) he came in and I was in the hallway because I couldn't walk durning the contractions (every two minutes) My dad says "I'm here, you can go"...I looked up and said "I know, I can't move"...So when it passed and I could walk I gave him a hug and he said "So--you think this is it?"...I giggled and said "Yup-I think so!!". We got to the ER and they let me go right up to maternity (last time I had to go through trioghe-can't spell that). We were in labor and delivery at 5:15am. I kept asking for meds, epidural (already did natural and it hurt like heck so this time I was doing all the pain relief--so I thought). They checked me and I was 3 cm dialated, we were waiting for the midwife on call for my doctor. They were trying to get me to fill out paperwork to admit me and concent to treat me. I was cracking jokes through the pain and between contractions making the nurse and my husband laugh. The midwife finally got there at about 5:50...I asked for pain meds--she checked me again and said it was too late I was 8cm dialated and would have the baby before the person that does that even got to the hospital :) I was laying on my side and she said whenever you are ready go ahead and push...so on the next contraction I pushed (while on my side)...she then said after this contraction I am going to need you to roll over on your back. I did that--apologized in advance if I Pooped during pushing--they all laughed :) I pushed two more times and out popped our little Kierra at 6:19am :) She came out so quickly that she had the perfect round head no coneing what so ever...she was beautiful and perfect :) However, due to her coming so fast she slammed into everything down there so I had a HUGE Black & Blue Bruise for the first two weeks...but everything is going back to normal now :) She is adorable and I lover her very very much!! Once again I am blessed with a healthy happy baby :)
