Leela-Louise`s birthstory

I had my waters broke at 11am i was 2-3cms dilated. My contractions kicked in straight away i was also then put on sitocin or some synthetic hormone which really gave my contractions a kick. By 3pm i was only 4-5cm dilated and i think around then i tried gas but it made me sick and i couldn`t take big enough breathes of the stuff to get me through the contractions so i had pethidine which took the edge of the pain gave me chance to rest but wore off after an hour and had to wait a further 3 hours before another shot. by 10am i was 8 cms dilated couldnt bear the pain asked for the epidural but the anesthatist was in theatre so had to wait so i had another shot of pethidine and then after an hour of the pethidine got my epidural which was FANTASTIC!! Didnt feel it going in and didnt feel contractions and i got the sleep i was so desperate for. I was checked again around 12am i hadnt made any progress my cervix was all around my babys head, she was in a position were her head was facing up and i was told it was unlikley i was going to birth also i had a high temperature and babys heart rate was high so they took me to theatre pumped me full of the epidural stuff because my left side took a while to numb and by 3:26am our beautiful precious little girl was born weighing a whopping 8lbs 8.5oz and with a head FULL of dark hair. We were so sure we were having a boy it was such a wonderful surprise to see we were having a girl. Im just so glad our little girl is finally here.
