i started labor with contractions every 4 to 6 minutes last monday so i went to the L&D to get checked and they sent me home b/c i was not dilating. contractions continued for the rest of monday into tuesday with the same consistency and added more pain to it so i went back to the L&D again tuesday night and they once again sent me home b/c i was not dilating. finally around 2330 the pain from the contractions got so intense i had to go back to L&D for some type of pain relief so they gave me 3 shots of morphin to calm the pain but not the contractions. well they put into observation so make sure the baby was ok and when they came and checked me for the last time for that visit they realized i had dilated to 4 in only an hour so they admitted me at 3:20 am. I had the epidural done by 4 am and slept until 7:30 am when they came and checked on me and said i was about a 6cm, 100% effaced and -1 but the baby had pooped a little in the womb so the womb so they kept a better watch on me and the baby. so the nurse left to go report it to the doctor that i had yet to meet. half hour later (0800) the doctor came to meet and check up on me and he found me to be slightly over 9cm so they started prepping me for delivery which took about 20 minutes to get my family back to the room to coach me. by 0830 i was pushing while looking in the mirror (which at first it freaked me out but then it was pretty kewl to watch the baby come out)and at 0840 my lil Rilee Capri was born at 6lbs 0 oz and 21 inches long. she barely cried which wa good b/c the doctor told me that i couldn't hold her right away b/c she had maconium in her system and they had to evaluate her right away. well as they were stitching me up Rilee just pretty much stared at everyone instead of crying very much except when they put the tube down her throat and when they bathed her. so far she is a very quiet baby. she wont cry until she is desperate for something of when we forget to check her diaper. but its so much fun to just stare at her.
