I went in Friday the 27th of June to be induced. I was 2 cm dialated the previous Wednesday and the doc said I could be induced that Friday ( Husband was going to be out of town on my due date and I didnt want to be left alone :( ) So i went into the hospital at 5am and I was put on pitocin at 5:45 am. I had an extremely nice nurse too! So i also found out after they put the monitors on me that i was contractingevery 2-4 min.... I was already in labor and had no idea!!! so she was gonna come that day no matter what. I was in pain but i expected labor pains to wrap around my entire body,, not just one area (the cervix) lol.... so they put me on pitocin and it was a huge waiting game.... i felt the contractions and they were strong but they really didnt hurt... just a tightening... it was kinda cool though... so the doc arrived at 8 am and broke my waters.... then the real pain began.... and all along, the nurses kept upping the pitocin every 30 min or so... that sucked... all the while, i learned that making this one noise (husband described it as me sounding like chewbaca! rofl) took my focus away from the pain and it kept me from tensing up... well hours passed and the whole time, i wished i could get out of bed.... but bc of the pitocin, i couldnt even use the restroom :( at about 4 pm, i called a nurse to check me bc i was having a constant urge to push.... when she checked me, she said i was 8-9 cm... well the doc came in 30 min later and he said i was a 6-7 cm... i almost flipped out... so for an hour, i fought my body to not push, which was the hardest thing ever.... at 5, the nurse came backt o check me again and discovered that the reason i wasnt progressing was bc my baby girl's hand was on her head. So the nurse attempted to move it (That hurt like hell!) and while she was doing that, my little one grabbed her finger! rofl! well the moving of the hand didnt help.... doctor came in at 5:30 and discovered that her hand was still in the way.... and i was sitting at a nine.... they all could see that i was fighting hard to stop my body from pushing which was making me really sick so the nurse went in and stretched my cervix as i pushed... it was progressing so the doc jumped in and continued to stretch. He called the nurse to grab the delivery nurse and then everyone was staring at me down below!lol... it took 6 pushes.... and she was here... I did this without an epidural and i only received a 1 degree tear :) And to this day, I have no memory of the pain... she weighed 6lb 1 oz and she was 21.5 incles long. She wouldnt cry but she was very pink and very curious... doc didnt like that though and he called the nicu to get her moving.... she had to sit under a heat lamp for 3 hrs and i didnt get to touch her... every1 else got to touch her but i wasnt allowed out of the bed... well once i could get out, i was up walking and packing and visiting... i flipped everyone out in the maternity ward... the doctor came to me and said he nor any of the other nurses (one being a l&d for oover 30yrs) said they had never seen such a birth go so perfect and me go thru labor without an epidural and on pitocin and be so relaxed... kinda... haha and my husband and I working as such a team for a first birth and not having gone thru classesand being up within hrs like nothing every happened.... im glad i went the route i did and got to experience everything
