Balian-Christopher`s birthstory

I woke up at 1:45am on Saturday morning with contractions, hung around at home for a couple of hours until I was sure this was it, then we headed off to the birth center. There, they checked me and I was only about 2cm. They kept me in the evaluation room for four hours, and in that time I only dialated to a `tight 3`. My midwife showed up at 8am, suggested an epidural, which I took despite wanting a natural birth...I just wasn`t progressing very well and I was exhausted. After the epidural, I was able to sleep for a little while and during that time, I dialated to 6cm. She broke my water at 12:30, and after that I progressed very quickly. I pushed for three hours, the epidural wore off, and he still hadn`t descended enough. They wheeled me into the OR for an emergency c-section after determining that his head was just too big for me to birth. He was 8 lbs, 11 oz and 21 1/2 inches long and came out screaming like a champ. So, my natural birth didn`t happen, but after how awful laboring with no progression was, I was happy just to have it end and have both of us be okay.
