Well... We first went for a little drive down dirt roads.. The roads wernt too bumpy for me but i think Lukey was feeling a little pissed off since he kept kicking me on the side... A few hours later nothing was happening so I decided to take the EVIL "Castor Oil".. DH and a friend were telling me that I was too chicken to even do it so I horked it down... Hours had passed and I felt no URGE to poo.. I was getting quite worried since it was 6 hours after the attempt of 2 oz of castor oil!! Anyways.. I came on a fourm chat and talked to a friend for a bit while I timed contractions.. I thought It might either be another falsie or castor oil FINALLY making its way! It got to the point where the contractions were 2 - 3 minutes apart and I ran to tell DH that it was happening and that I was going to have a hot shower to see if it was REAL! Well, The contractions started feeling worse in the shower so I quickly came out and told DH it was time to call my mom and head to the hospital! We went to the hospital at 5 AM and they figured right away that I was in labor.. They told me to go in my fav. room (the biggest one) and they met me there with the strip machine!! Sure enough my contractions were WAY over the sheet... they were comming over 130 or so and all vitals with baby and I were fine... The nurse then finally checked my cervix.. Surprisingly with having such BAD contractions I was only 2 cm dilated! Contrax were getting WORSE and WORSE and I felt like I had to make a BM soo bad... No BM and I was still getting worried about the castor oil not working yet! Contrax once again started getting worse and I was demanding DRUGS!!! They game me a shot of demerol(sp??) and checked my cervix which was still only 1 more cm dilated than before... The shot didnt work so they gave me the gas.. Every contraction I had I was to breathe it in DEEPLY, by then the contrax were on top of eachother and I couldnt breathe! They put the strip on me again as they wanted to find out how the baby was coping with the contractions and discovered his heart rate droping to 69.. They then called the Dr. from the delivery room telling him to get there ASAP!! They started to prep me up and telling me not to worry... They gave me an oxygen mask so I was able to breathe... The Dr. came and checked my cervix and I was only at 4 cm and told me not to worry, that we have to go to the OR right away!! In the OR they gave me the epidural while one was helping me relax and another monitoring the babys heartrate with a dopler and then told me to hop on the table... I told them I could still feel my legs and they said its all ok... As soon as my legs were on the table I couldnt feel anything anymore! It was great NO MORE CONTRACTIONS!!!! Dh came into the room and they started the procedure... Minutes later I can feel them tugging away and out poped a little baby. The first thing I could say was "IS IT A BOY?" And they turned him over to see me for a second, sure enough there was his parts, DEFINATLY a boy! He was blue and purple and still not crying so they worked on him for a cry. When he started crying I got tears pouring down my face thinking, I finally have my little man. I couldnt stop saying how beautiful he was either. We took a few pictures and DH left the room with Lucas, leaving me alone with the Drs. talking about going fishing on the weekend while stitching me up. I was placed in the recovery room for another 2-3 hours where I just wanted to see my new family. I finally got wheeled into the room where it was PACKED full of people, too many actually, I just wanted to hold my baby and rest after such a long labour!
