Gracie-Browne`s birthstory

on tues morn i woke at 5am to discover i had my show. I went to visit my MIL after i dropped kids off at school and stayed and had coffee and a laugh til bout 12pm i still had no signs of labour at this point. I then came home and cleaned my entire house as i ws getting a new sofa and wanted it all pretty lol! Cleaning finished i sat down about half 2 and felt a contraction i didnt get too excited about it as i had too many false starts n this pregnancy i monitored them for a bit then decidedto time them and found they were 8 mins apart regularly! i phoned hubby bout half 5 an told him we could be having a baby!! He was collecting the new sofas in the works van so i started cooking tea! My contractions were now 6-8 mins apart but not lasting very long so me and my youngest son started to time them! He looked so cute sat there with a pen an paper and counting how long they lasted then writing it down!! About half 8 i stood up an had a massive gush! my waters had gone! By this point i finally accepted i was in labour and not false labour lol! we trotted off to hosp about 9.45pm i was still contracting but still chatty and happy and even shared a joke or 2 with the midwifes! we went for a walk around the hospital grounds around 10.30pm and by the time i had come back my contractions were every 3-4 mins but still not lasting long or painful enough for me to need pain relief. I had my first internal at 12.30 ish and found to my horror i was only 3cm!! Gutted! anyhoo after my internal my contractions grew more painful and an hour later i asked for gas an air! not bad since it was 12 hrs since first contraction! I cant remember alot after this point but by 3.45am i was in agony!! I asked for a shot of meptid and they gave me another exam the midwife said `oh you`ve still got a while to go and left! WTF!! by half 4 i had a strong urge to push and sent mark out looking for the midwife! When he came back without her i was furious! the baby was coming and i couldnt stop!! At my first push the midwife walked thru the door and on my third push she was out!! Lucky or what!!! Gracie was born at 4.39am Little did i know that at my exam at 3.45am i was only 4cms dilated i went 6cms and had gracie in 54 mins!! She is Beautiful!!!
