Well it was a quick one anyway.
Went for my dau visit and they did a sweep at 10am, we then went to morrisons wherein i started getting a few period pains whch slowly got worse during the course of the day until about 8pm wherein i had eaten my roast dinner and promptly vomited it straight back up again - nice!
We went into the delivery ward, got there for about 8.30pm wherein they told me i was 4cm`s at that point and they kindly got out the gas and air for me.
About 10.00pm i asked for some pethadine - i wanted a waterbirth but my bp was too high so they said i could wait to see if it settled down but i decided to sod it and get the pethadine in.
Glad i got the pethadine in then because at 10.50 i started wanting to push, was 9cm`s so had to refrain from pushing for 3 contractions which is SOOO hard not to push when you feel like you need to!
Anyway my waters broke at about 11.20 and boy did they break, they actually burst across the room and very nearly on the opposite wall, Luckily i was off my face on the gas and air and pethadine but my husband tells me that it nearly made him pass out. HA HA HA He says my waters breaking was `a special moment` in a really gross way.
My WONDERFUL polish midwife then promptly settled the silent arguement my mum and husband were having as to whether he would be a friday or saturday baby by telling them he would in fact be a friday baby!
28 Mins later he was here and i was sobbing my heart out! Baby Theo born 7lb 15oz @ 11.48 on 9th May.
Sadly we had to wait another hour for the placenta to be delivered because it was so stubborn, we were all fairly worried at that point and a doctor had to come in to examine me to make sure that it was going to come. It did and it was huge and gross.
I had no stitches but have a slight graze which has left me quite swolen and sore.

No-name-just-yet`s birthstory

well i was having what i will now call tightening`s for a while nattering to a friend on msn (who was fabby at keeping me sane lol and some great advice well used later) this was about 9ish till about 1130 ish.

the tightenings were about 8 mins apart lasting about 40-60secs but were not painful just uncomfy.

I decided to go to bed, as said friend quite rightly suggested paracetamol and a lie down may not go down to badly so off i went.

no sooner had i got into bed then the contractions got painful but still at only about 8 mins apart.

well come midnight i realised that they were getting closer together and at this point theo woke up properly so dh and i decided to get up and go downstairs (nas had been asleep since about 830 at this point).

so off we went called my mum, called the mw also decided then to call the inlaws to get them to come get theo because he was awake due to this damed cold so he had medicine and milk and was there for a breif part of my labour - about an hour or so he was awake for.

When midwife arrived she examined me and found i was 4/5cm (which i was expecting due to how close contractions were).

she decided she would stay with me then but had to go away and get the entonox so off she went and whilst she was gone we set up the `nest` in the living room.

by the time she returned (dont ask me what time lol) the contractions were about 3 mins apart and quite intense.

My waters broke quite soon afterwards no blood or anything and so pains got worse and worse and i coped with just a the tens and breathing techniques machine until about 4am.

i then got on the gas and air, and then 7 contractions later i felt the need to push quite badly.

I was only pushing for 6 mins no tearing, no grazing nothing at all and hardly any blood
The second midwife arrived just as baby’s head came out she just about managed to get her gloves on for the shoulders/body to slip out lol, nice welcome for her!

I had no pethadine but felt the transition for a lot longer this time around, but never voiced my fears as i knew it meant that baby was close.

I kept the cord intact until it stopped pulsating and then i had a natural 3rd stage the placenta came out with 3 pushes, intact, less than 15 mins after baby was born, this is a far difference from my first labour where it took over an hour WITH the injection!

He`s perfect, apgar score of 9 jsut lost a point as he was a little blue.

we`ve had a good 3/4 hours sleep first hour i was just unconsious rather than asleep.

Breastfeeding is going well and it was lovely to have my own house, bed, shower, bath etc etc and some lovely midwives
