Alison-Grace`s birthstory

So after being told over and over that we would go over due I honestly was completely unprepared for this! The day started with breakfast at dunkin donuts, which I puked up in the parking lot! Weird I thought... We had an appointment at 1:30 and I was 1-2cm 75% effaced. We drove all the way yo virginia beach to pick up my sister for lunch with my grandma. On the way to get Grandma for lunch we were laughing and carrying on in the car when GUSH!!! `I think my water just broke` I say `NOT UH` my sister responds `so do we go to the hospital now` Brian asks... We went home, I changed into clean pants it just kept gushing out!!! I have NO PADS... not ready! So I stuffed my pants with towels and we drove to get Grandma and after getting Grandma we went to the hospital. Contractions went from 4 mins to 2 minutes by the time we got to the hospital.

We were admitted and brought into the delivery room. My mom got there and my grandma and sister all came in the room with us while I labored. I had planned on all natural and I was doing great. Brian and I were bouncing on yoga balls and he was rubbing my back and I rested on all fours and rocked... Because my water had broken they wanted things to move quickly so I was given pitocen and contractions got very rough. After almost 13 hours of this I was checked and was told that I was only 3cm. I felt discouraged and was told if we didnt progress they may need to do a c section. I opted for the epi in hopes it would relax me enough to dialate more. It took over 45 minutes to do because I was contracting every 1 minute and I couldnt keep still. After getting the epi I went from 3cm to 8cm in only 30 minutes. We all napped for a while and about an hour and 15 minutes after the Epi I was told to start pushing if I felt like it. So I did. As her head came out a nurse went to get the mirror for me and while she was out my mom held one leg while Brian held the other. I think I pushed for about 8-14 contractions and she was finally born!

She was layed right on me for only a few minutes because she was very quiet... she had a lot of liquid in her lungs. They cleaned her and all in the room with us while I was getting finished up and stitched up. I have a 2nd degree tear. On top.... not on the bottom, weird.... After she was finally screaming I got to really hold her and she latched right away... it was amazing! I can not believe my baby girl is here! She is so beautiful and perfect!
